So... here's my story.

I'm driving on 441 in Appleton in the mustang just going for a little Saturday morning cruise with my dog like usual. I'm coming across a bridge and see this warehouse in the middle of a farm field ... not too unusual, right?

In the parking lot I could see no less than 20 Mustangs, a few vettes, SRT8 Jeeps, Cobra R ... so I'm thinking "What in the hell is that?" I thought maybe it was a car club meeting or something - but it was in the middle of nowhere! You can see in the pictures, I really had to try to figure out how to even get to this place!

I get off at the next exit and wind my way to this building and pull into the lot behind non other than a brand new p-51 mustang. I park my car and get out only to find that there is only one guy there and he's runnin around in a forklift moving crates of synthetic oil and blocks.

I get out and talk to him and ask him if it's a storage building and he says "No, this is a private collection." So after some small talk, he tells me that he is just there to start the cars and move some stuff around for the owner. He told me I could take pictures of the cars outside but was not allowed to take picture inside the building at all, and couldn't touch the cars.

So... here's what I go. These are from my phone so give me a break!

What I parked behind...

Picture inside the building- now keep in mind that you can see 2 of a possibled 6 Ford GTs there was another half of the building that had to have 60 more cars in it that I couldn't see but I COULD see a ZR1!

The cars that were left outside by the time I was done drooling...

So - I gave the car-tender my business card and asked him to give it to the owner as I'd love to see the rest of his collection. Apparently my company does some business with the owners, so I might actually have a good chance of seeing the rest of his cars!

I had to share with you guys. It was absolutely incredible.

There is a guy I know in Chicago that has a collection like that of old and new Pontiacs. Like a 68 firebird left hand drive that was built for an actress in Australia. Like one of two or something. It was imported back into the country and he has it. A few 69 trans ams (real, not clones). Judges, bonnevilles, etc.

I think its cool, the guy has good taste and a freaking awesome hobby. Seems humble, tends to himself, and really is not looking for attention.

I don't remember the owners name - the guy that was there told me the owners name but I guess I wasn't focused on that enough to remember.

I thought JEEP SRT8's had polished wheels. In the pics, those looked pretty dull. They definitely don't look like johnny2k's.

Seems like an awesome collection.

You can see in the lip how polished they were - I think it's just my camera phone that didn't do them justice.

hmm, maybe it was just the angle or something. At a quick glance, they almost look like silver paint.

So where on 441 is this? I love finding crazy things like this in the middle of nowhere. It's one thing to see a Ferrari or something in the middle of nowhere in Michigan, but damn!

Am I the only one that thinks it's a tremendously bad idea exposing personal information and photos of a collector (name) and his possible location of his collection on a public internet message board with photos to top it off?

I know we can all appreciate this, but people keep their collections in discreet and inconspicuous locations for a reason.

I saw a p51 pull out of RA last year with WI plates. Wonder if this is the same car. Funny something like that exists around the area!

As I do not have Editing Privliges I will again state that it is very Rare to see any cars Outside the Building,So save the Trip !! Over the Years I have Seen a lot of these Vehicles At Road America As The Owner is Quite Involved There !!

Fuck's sake it's not like I posted his address, or social security number, or the code to disable his alarm...

Just saying, it's not hard to find that location based on the information given. With google maps and publicly disclosed information, it's not hard at all.

If anyone of a criminal mind was trolling the board, they could have a field day on their hands and as for the owner - one big empty warehouse.

Just playing devils advocate.

Anyone with the resources to make that many cars disappear is going to get all the info they need from the pics of the license plates. I guess better safe than sorry makes sense though...

Although a nice collection, Nick is right IMO.
