Holy Shit! A recoil energy factor of 168.5 compared to 19.8 from a 7mm Rem Mag or 24.2 from a .300 Win Mag!! :wow

I'm not really sure what that's good for...

Any idea how that compares to the recoil energy coming out of a M2 50 cal? Thats heavy as hell and will walk a tri pod back in the sand really easy.

Heres some load data on this bad boy.

www.accuratereloading.com/577tyr.html

Without getting too far into it, an average .308 round uses apx 43 grains of powder with 150 grain bullets. This is talking about 178 grains of powder with a 750 grain bullet. Neat, but I think I'll pass on it! :stare

From what I was able to find, the energy of the M2 50 cal is about 36 with a brake and about 60 without. Not sure if that's completely valid or not???

Hmm, is recoil energy calculated just by the amount of powder and the size of the bullet? I guess if it take into account the weight of the gun and any moving parts that would explain it being that low.

I don't know to tell you the honest truth. I'm just basically reading crap off of charts. www.chuckhawks.com seems to have some decent resources relating to ballistics, recoil, etc. That's usually where I go when I want to kill time and read up on stuff.
