Just wondering what you guys think of the Mark LT. It's pretty much just a loaded up F-150 (if you couldn't figure that out, lol). 5.4L gas, 300hp, 4x4, crew cab.

They are no doubt nice trucks, but as said before you are paying for trim.

The hard part is gonna be finding a used F150 that is as loaded as a Mark LT. Most used F-150s are XLT's with cloth and you definitely have to hunt harder to find a loaded king ranch or lariat most of the time.

I love my SuperCrew and don't think I'll ever go with less than a 4 dr pickup, but I can't see paying a lot more for some fancy interior and a different grille/taillights. I'm not into leather and especially not in a pickup. I'd just buy an F150 if it was me, unless it was a killer deal.

Does it have a wood lined bed like the Blackwoods did?

Hate it. Trucks should be trucks. Not raised limo's.

The tail lights are a joke. The extra peice on the tailgate looks like complete ass. Like someone 5 min before the thing hit production said, "Hey I got an idea how it can look like a Navigator.".

The F150's grill looks a lot better too. The Lincoln's looks like a 5 year old could punch through it.

I's save the scratch and just get an F-150.

Seen a few on the road around here and I love it, especially the nicer interior. I hate column shifters.

The taillight monstrosity ruins it.

they are all right, I drove one before I started selling cars....just too much truck for me, and a lot of shit that I would have no use for, and the price increase I cant justify....I would rather have the 2007 fx4 crew cab that is equiped the same as what you can get an lt for but at a considerable savings

Don't love it, don't hate it...it's ok. Great for people who want a luxurious truck (ala escalade EXT) but would rather drive a ford product. I'm sure it's every bit as nice as an escalade interior/ride wise, but with a lesser engine/performance.

Rather have the Caddy.

If you look, the mark LT 2006 used is almost the same price as an f-150 that is simular. Maybe $700 more. The price gap decreases A LOT as the years old increase. I have seen an 06 mark lt 85k miles for $16k. Not bad.

I've been thinking of getting a truck in the next year or so and was just concidering it. I'm not serious about buying one, just kinda wanted to see what people thought about it. From what I read, it's got really mixed reviews.

I look at the mark lt as a cross between the esclade and f-150... kinda cool.

I'd still rather have the caddy.. More power, easier and cheaper to work on.

And the Caddy doesn't just look like a half ass re-badge job. Other then the obvious Avalanche bed, it everything else has it's own look.

The caddy doesen't have the MPG or cargo abilitys the mark lt has though. Plus that thing is huge.

I thought I read somewhere that one main difference between the Escalade EXT and the Avalanche was that the Caddy's truck bed was like 3 inches longer. Or vice versa, I don't remember.

The Avalanche is a cool truck, my mom's ex husband had an 03. Only thing that I don't like is all that plastic, but now 04+ don't have the plastic everywhere.

See... I didn't say a damn thing about looks. It is more about the drivetrain for me.

They're both good drivetrains though. The LT is on the number selling drivetrain in America for what like the last 20 years. So for me, it comes down to looks. The LT looks half ass TO ME compared to the EXT.

Seeing as I used to work for Boucher Lincoln Mercury I've driven several of the LT's. They are very nice trucks, luxurious, capable, etc. They had a nice lease special on these back in 06 for employees. I could've gotten one for about $250/month with nothing down. I didn't do it, and regret it still!

SUV tail lights with a step bumper is kind of retarded but other than that they're not bad. Any Ford truck that doesn't have the V10, the 2 valve 5.4L, or the 4.6L is pretty decent. I don't much care for the flare in the shifts that all the F150s I've been in had.

I have to say it doesn't suit a purpose for our household. It's not a "truck" (can't tow a car) and it's not a luxury vehicle (truck suspension and looks). It isn't great on gas. Tires are expensive. It really is a type of vehicle you have to WANT more than feel good about.

That being said, I kinda like the new X6, which is WAY up there on ridiculous useless vehicles that cost too much.

here is a nice luxo truck

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/03/2007_Escalade_EXT.JPG

Plus the GMT900 escalades came with the 6.2L rated at 405hp and I know their towing capacity is up there. Probably pretty close or just as much as a half ton Silverado

BoosTT
04-17-2009, 08:42 PM
The mark lt has a towing of 8900 lbs. This is MUCH more then any cadillac. Not sure how it cant tow a car either... LT has more tow and better mpg then the caddy.

Rocket Power
04-17-2009, 11:21 PM
I was wondering why it couldn't tow, my 01 is rated at like only 260 hp vs 300 hp and has a towing cap of 7700 , which is fine for an open trailer and any car I'll have. Used mine for towing a couple times

Escalade AWD GVW: 7300lbs
Mark LT 4x4 GVW: 7050lbs
Escalade curb: 5691
Mark LT curb: 5361
Escalade mpg: 12/19
Mark LT mpg:12/16
Escalade without distributing hitch: 5000lbs
Mark LT without distributing hitch: 5000lbs
Escalade with distributing hitch: 7700lbs
Mark LT with distributing hitch: 8900lbs

If they were the same price I'd go with an Escalade SUV over a Mark LT. But they're not. I couldn't easily find info on the Escalade EXT. Mark LT wins.

If they made a Denali in an extended cab shorty I'd be all over it like flies on shit. But the best I can get is a 6.0L/6L80e and a 10,400lb. And I can't even find one of those. The closest thing I can find is an extended cab shorty 5.3L/4L65e. :barfing smiley: Or I have to drive to New Jersey or Colorado to get it.
