It was really cold tonight, but many nice cars were out.......I saw a few BCM people, but was too shy to go up and say hello....it'll be so much nicer when the weather is more like 70 out.

What year car do you have? They are being real strict lately at Solid Gold, not allowing any cars after '84 in......but it was weird, last night a 4th gen Camaro was there, but they almost turned away a BEAUTIFUL 1985 Toyota Supra. I'm not an import person as a rule, but even I wanted that little car!

JC70SS
04-16-2009, 03:15 PM
they were letting everyone in last night.

Voodoo Chick
04-16-2009, 03:19 PM
They gave that guy with the Supra a little hassle, but they let him in (obviously). It was so nice to be at a car show after that long, miserable winter.

When did they start restricting years?

Not sure when they started, but I do know that a few people lie about their cars' ages to get in. There's a guy there with a beautiful blue '89 RS, he claims it's an '84, which is the cut-off year for the show, so he gets in.

Ricky Bobby
04-26-2009, 08:34 PM
well my junk is kinda fixed need to see if 93 octane will fix my pinging prob or on to race gas and mess with the timing :confused so at least i can drive it around now

jbiscuit
04-27-2009, 07:29 AM
do both: take some timing out and run 93 in it for sure

Ricky Bobby

Just like when i went there when Jim had the place,....they had a cut off as well..i just told them it was a '84 SS...not like anyone he had working for him knew better, so i got in....it's just a car cruise...

Not many people there, just got back. Me and my daughter went to go look around. I think I saw Voodoo Chicks Camaro, or one that looks like it. My kid suddenly developed a leg problem so she couldn't walk and needed a shoulder ride.:rolf So if you saw a guy in a black sweatshirt and an 8 year old girl on his shoulders, that was me:rolf

I plan on making the Culver's, Solid Gold, and Jetz, shows a weekly thing once the weather gets even keel. Having no wiper blades and no traction makes things iffy in the rain.

I tried going there on a random night last year (had different kind of american makes and years..even a 94? mustang) and they turned me away because I was "2 years" shy of the mark...not getting turned down by those clowns again. Its sad too because most old school muscle car guys can appreciate the work ive put into my car a lot more than the younger crowd. :-/
