yeah i know, i'm supposed to have all the answers... but...

looking to mount a camera or small camcorder in my car, and need opinions on what's out there and works, what doesn't work, angles to aim it once it's in the car, etc... and no, i'm not hanging it on the outside of the car, at least until i trust my cone-dodging abilities a little more with the car's setup... :rolf:rolf

so let's hear what works and doesn't!

Wouldn't a helmet cam be kind of unstable if your head is moving around a lot?

If it were me, I would want it mounted right between the front seats.

i made a mount that worked on my stock seats that put my cam inbetween the front seats... here's a vid from it while auto-x...

it worked, but i'm looking for something more mobile... if i wanted to put it in different positions later on...

you could mount it wherever you want, wouldn't need to be on a helmet. suction cup it to the dash or the hood, whatever.:thumbsup

You need one of these!

I know this link is from a cobalt site but there is a link in here that leads you to place where you can buy one of these for $155 shipped.

Here is a test that someone did with this camera.

Josh,

Chase cam with traq mate is the hot set up. I have a camera on my tow hook and several other place available. I have a suction mount that I used years ago. Your camera screws right on it and suction it to the rear window. It will not fall off. Call me if your interested.

I've got a i/o port mount if you want to try it. You will need a rollbar or harness bar to mount it to.
