Depends on application, Top fuel motors are built to handle
what they can.

An A-413 FWD input shaft will break at 550hp untreated,
we know an A413 thats been running low 8's now for
several years with a Crytreated input....way over 700hp.

There is way too much scientific proof to show the benefits
of cryo treating to dismiss it when pushing passenger car
designed motors to there limit.......can you tell I have
cryotreated parts in my drag car :)

cryotreatment isn't a scan when used on the right parts. The components used in a top fueler wouldn't see a benefit due to how they are manufactured. If chris's cummins uses cast components there is strength to be gained through molecular restructuring.... A materials engineers 2cents

My guy is in Kansas City, Lone Wolf Performance.

2.2 Chysler rods go at the same 570+ area, Cryotreated I dont
know cuz then we split blocks and send headgaskets out the side.

Cryogenic treating works on many parts. It really helps on shafts and gears. I don't know if I'd bother in an engine.

I would agree that cyro tx might not be the way to go for something such as a rod...it goes through so many heat and stress cycles that I'm not sure much benefit would be gained. Shot-peening, resizing, ensuring straightness, and fitting with better/stronger fasteners would still be of decent benefit though.

I know of a local guy who does it. Supposedly. He's kinda borderline sketchy. I worked for him for a short while. Idk if i'd trust him...

Scott at Northstar Automotive on 60th and Coldspring? He did my powerslots and pads, but he is kinda goofy.

Yea it sat in storage during the winter. Was kind of hard to work on it. now i got it in the garage and I want to get her runnin before april 25. 2 weeks is short notice, but If i can pull it off i'll be happy. If you want to help out, I got tons of beer and food :)

If cryo treat increases the strength of my rods from 300 to 350 i'll be happy (just random numbers:)) I just don't have 1100 bucks for top of the line rods when I'm not shooting for mid 400hp. I'm positive that my rods are strong, but i'm going to have the motor apart anyways, so why not get the rods treated and throw on forged pistons? Can't go wrong.

force has the cash for billet $$$ a set of billet rods for my truck are upwards of 2g's and really show no benefit over balanced shot peened cyro'd stock cummins marine rods. the "BIG BAD DODGE" modified pulling truck saw 6,000 rpms since 07 and over 1800hp and hasnt had a rod failure yet! infact he split a block this last fall, and yet didnt damage any "STOCK" rods.

Well having tore down and rebuilt most every motor out
there Im not surprised, those rods dwarf Internation rods
by a long shot! The inline 6 configuration and its bore and
stroke are just great design work for grunt.
