Johnny Knoxville did this back in 1997 for Big Brother magazine, before there was Jackass. It was part of his skit that was shown on Jackass with the Self Defense where he got the pepper spray, the taser and the stun gun. MTV refused to show the last part of th ebit, he shot himself in the chest, he was holding the gun himself. In the Jackass clip, if you watch it at the beginning they show the self defense items on the ground, you can see the bulletproof vest laying there. I will have to look for the clip from the deset where he does it with a .38 Smith & Wesson. If I recall correctly he did it Russian Roullette style, the first 4 shots were nothing.
