Thinking about trading in the GTO

Its not that bad. I was offered 22 for the goat and I would be putting down 5k So Im only financing 12 to 14 k depending in incentives

Those vettes are fucking AWESOME. Just be prepared to buy a new set of tires every 10-12,000 miles. My dad had one for a few years before he passed away and absolutely LOVED it. It was a shame we had to sell it though...FTL.

I believe that 2006 has sold and they just got another 2006 yellow one in on a trade for a new 2008 black 3LZ. The new yellow one has chrome wheels.

I had two LeMans Blue C6 Z06's and sold them for a Black C6 Z06 and Jetstream blue C6 Z06. Since, I have sold the JetStream blue Z and kept the Black C6Z. All personal choice.

A lot of people like the yellow C6Z as it reminds them of the C6R racecar. The current C6Z they have on their lot has 7,000 miles. Looks like the car was taken care of. Yellow looks nice in the C6Z expecially all cleaned up.

Ask for Bob Schwarz at Holz - He will take care of you and he is their Corvette Salesman.

When they first got this car, I went to see it in 2007. They wanted $63,500 for it. I went there as my friend was looking for a slightly used one and the car was driven all over muddy roads and such. It looked horrible. Then, they told me to come back in a day when they had it cleaned up - Needless to say, I am picky, but for a year old car with 3,000 miles on it, it was rough.

This was the same car they had on the second level of the Milwaukee Auto show a month ago. No barriers around it at all and now it has 11,000 miles on it as who knows who from that dealership has been driving it. And it is not like they were casually driving that car, it have been driven in a year and a half 8,000 miles... At a dealership? Come on - Plus they are trying to get a good dollar on this car even at $45K for it's condition. I am a long time Corvette enthusiast and know about these cars - Trust me - You will be better off staying far away from this one.

If blue is what you wnat, just check a pay site for individuals advertising their LeMans Blue Z06's for sale - There are plenty of them out there with one owner cars and all the history you want aboiut the car.

BTW - Bob Schwarz told me that the yellow one was traded in for a 2008 black 3LZ, not a ZR-1. The yellow one you had listed was one of two (The other was a LMB Z06 with 11,500 miles) that a large client of Holz motors traded both the yellow and blue for Holz first ZR-1 they delivered last summer. Both of the Z06's sold, first with the blue going in early fall and recently the yelloow selling. The current yellow one they have for sale has chrome wheels, not silver.

Yellow has always been my choice of color on the vette looks way better then silver or red. two of the worst colors on a vette in my opinion. black yellow or white would be my choice on a c6. If i had it my way it would be yellow with black accents SEXY SEXY!

The original yellow one had silver. Maybe they just put chrome wheels on it and took off the silver? Not sure. WHen I spoke with Bob he told me this was a trade inon a black 3LZ 2008, not a ZR-1

A few things to note when looking at the 2006 model year Z06 (I have had two of them):

- The '06 C6 Z06 had problems with roof tops delaminating, then flying off and Half Shafts being broken (they strengthened the Diff output shaft but this only transfered the problem outboard) and some cracked Diff cases.

- A limited # of '06 C6 Z06's have had rocker needle bearing failures (presumably lot # related)

- The brakes & rotors of the C6 Z06 were upgraded but are basically unsuited for track work and are hard to up grade for track work. due to the padlet thickness limitations and backwards rotors on the right side. This has been fixed by WIlwood, Stoptech. But it can get a little expensive.

- The transmission was updated on late production '07 and '08 C6 Z06's

There are plenty of them out there. My friend just got a 2007 8,900 mile LMB for $50K. It is not bad. I think if you did go with a 2006 you will be ok, just need to make sure that the car was not beaten on.

Just trying to keep you informed of the differences in model years.

The yellow one WAS BEATEN. VIS report shows diff work and 2nd gear replacement, as well as tire replacement. If this is the car I'm thinking of, the car got picked up on a saturday, then ONE WEEK later I saw it going down the strip at GLD. However, it did go 11.7@125.

Neat cars! Did i ever metnion how much of an absolute treat it is to do exhaust on C6's? Easiest of any LSX vehicle i work on! Do'er in blue though! you dont see LeMans blue ever

very nice choice with the vette. the new c6 zo6's are amazing. you wont be disappointed. my family is huge into corvettes. between me and my two uncles we have 7 total. both uncles are looking to get into another one soon. my one uncle is on a waiting list for a zr1 and the other one wants a c6. definately go with the blue.
