Well I have a shoe box full of LED's and I wanna hook them up to my RC truck. Just wanna find out how I can do this with disposable batteries or is there an easier way. The LED's were intended for a regular car. Thanks for any help I will get.

Do you know what voltage they are rated at?

You should be able to go to American Science and Surplus and pick up a couple battery holders and wire the LED's directly to them.

Yes, put the batterys in series to get them up to 12v. AA's are 1.5v each, so you'll need 8. With AA's you should be able to power quite a few LED's. I can't give you an number, because all leds are different. I would guess around 15.

what color are they they should be any where between 3 and 4 volt led's are they 5mm? you can hook them up to a 9 volt battery with 3 in series pretty easy. then run them parralel and wam bam leds on truck i had two running of my esc on my car it only put out 6v so i could only run two in series. i say 9v and a bunch would be perfect. i can hook you up with about 1000 blue led's if you need some lol i have extra

If these are plain LEDs (no built in resistors) they will require a current limiting resistor. An LED will light with a very small amount of voltage, just be sure to limit the forward current with a resistor and you should be good. The rule of thumb I typically use is 5V = 330 Ohm, 12V = 1K Ohm, 24V = 2K Ohm.

Or wire them in series and that will eat up the voltage. I.E. if they're 4v, wire up 2 in a series and hook it up to 5x 1.5V batteries in series.

Wow, whole lotta things to try. These are about 5mm in size. I have hooked them up to my other car before and they worked fine with out a resistor or anything like that. Thanks for the tips.

Don't forget that diodes are directional. Keep in mind the + and - sides. If you wire them wrong, they won't light.

in a 9 volt you should be able to get 3 in series and have them light up bright with out a resistor best bet
