I received my license plate renewal notice for my '01 and I was reading the back where it states the "Non-operation Statement". Basically you write down when it wasn't operated on public highways.
Non-operation Statement - Complete the certificate below ONLY if the vehicle was not operated for 12 months if licensed annually, one or more quarters if licensed quarterly, or one or more months if licensed under consecutive monthly registration program. Count months or quarters from the expiration date of the plate.
Anybody ever use that option? I am guessing if you store your car for 6 months you can't be included on this because of that "12 months" since our plates are annually, but if you were working on your car for 12 months and it never saw the street, then you would be eligible. Am I understanding this? Does the DMV then extend your registration?
