What I have never understood though was how someone can say somebody did something 30 years ago and the police automatically go and arrest the guy.I'm not familiar with a case like that in this state that involves molestation. The case that closest fits it took some 10-12 years before a criminal charge was brought...as there was no outstanding complaint or recent cases.

I don't believe the police automatically arrested this guy based on one individual's complaint.

I seems that it went down as, they received a complaint about Acker showering with the boys prior, but hadn't acted on the complaint. Once they received the complaint about his past deeds of 30 years ago, they acted on the showering complaint that they had, now believing his actions to be for nefarious reasons leading to his arrest...and allowing them to conduct an investigation into similar acts performed within the statutes of limitations. They discovered the 19 y/o in which he had been banging since he was apparently 15 or 16, hence the charge of second degree sexual assault.

Looks like he admitted to 6 of the assaults thus far, with only 1 being prosecutable due to statue of limitations. Hopefully thats enough to put him away till hes gone.
