if u have knowledge of 400sbc and are free tonight could use help. live in greenfield

story bought a 400 from friend with a 350 balancer on front motor is a 406 crank had holes drilled and filled with weld so put a 350 flexplate on it and now have seriouse vibration when driven want someone of knowledge to come and feel it. Have beer only need a few minutes of ur time live on 91st and coldspring gimme a call 414-430-6658

think it needs 400 balancer and plate

again have ice cold beer :headbang
wont drive car in fear of serious damage to motor if this is the case

does it vibrate/shake like that when its idling (sitting still)? Or just when you are on the gas driving it? Reusing the same transmission/driveshaft Tony?

EDIT:

The more I think about it, the 400 is the bastard of the chevy motors. I might be wrong here but I think a lot of parts on those motors are unique to the 400 right? Was the rotating assembly balanced do you know? (hopefully yes to rule out anything inside the motor). You sure the flexplate bolts were torqued down etc?

vibrates not at idle but if u rev it up and when driving and yes the balancer and plate are unique to the 400 it was balanced, i was told internally so i put 350 shit on it and now it vibrates so i just wanted someone to come over and feel it to tell me yes its the balancer and the plate change them to the 400 shit and ur good.


also that would give me a good reason to put that 3000 stall in it then also :shades

converter bolted up properly? proper spacing, proper for your application? bolt isn't loose?
