View Full Version : Watch out for the cops - license plate infractions!

just spoke to a customer that was pulled over for not having a plate. turned out he knew the guy that pulled him over. said that the state patrol had a big meeting and decided to raise revenue by pulling people over for no front plates, and also license plate bulb infractions. he said that ALL departments are following suit and doing this. also, he said that doing 10 mph over on the highway is not going to be a good idea anymore either. should be a crazy summer! here is what is on msn's homepage: http://editorial.autos.msn.com/landingpageluxury.aspx?cp-documentid=948333&landing=luxury&topart=luxury&icid=autos_786&GT1=22013

Well looks like a great summer to go on a crime spree then since our police departments will be more focused on generating revenue then preventing crime. Maybe they could also sell Mary Kay and Pampered Chef products when they pull people over for a little extra cash.

"here's your ridiculous ticket, and would you like to buy a Pizza Stone today?"

It sounds to me like the State patrol wants every revenue penny for no front plate tickets before they get the axe in the budget. :banana

Yeah I was talking to a LEO friend of mine and he said some departments are "requesting" that the officers make every effort to write their salary's worth of tickets if at all possible.

Let's just hope it goes to the shitty roads.....

what is going on with the "one plate" line in the budget?? is it still looking like we will only need one plate soon anyway?

Hate to say it but thats exactly what I thought right away.

Cruising will tie up the cops in town, the state patrol will
be writting tickets for prom tassels hanging from rear view
mirrors.....time for the working man to collect his dues
since working my @$$ off for 30yrs isnt getting me ahead.

Cop's in the milwaukee area blow dick anyway.

sunday i was going to a resturant on Oakland/Locust, going down locust at booth there was 3 kids beating the hell out of each other, i call the police the lady asked "are the people still gonna be there if we send a officer" i said i don't know know. she said ok thanks and hung up.

I would be pissed if i was the kid who was getting the shit kicked out of me if the cops were called and they didn't do anything.

LOL @ above story. Seriously that's fucked up.

Then again, look at the neighborhood. I mean it's pretty hard for the cops to care about a shitty neighborhood when the people who live there don't. Not to mention all the "don't snitch" BS.

Either way, my front plate is placed neatly in the corner of the windshield in BOTH my cars, and that's where it will stay. The cops are nuts if they think I'm drilling holes in my RX7's bumper for a gay ass license plate.

Milwaukee is a big town. The cops are a bit busier than the police force in Delevan. what you expect happen; dispatch a squad to where you see this fight, they get there and there's no fight. they just start grabbing people to find out what happened? for all you know dude getting his ass whipped coulda tried mugging the wrong dude, or got caught being a pick pocket.

no matter how big or small a city is

"TO PROTECT AND TO SERVE" is there motto....

my brother who is the Police srgt. in Delavan even said it was bull shit.

even more so the Police station is 8 blocks from where the call was placed.

Thats why the best thing we can do to help clean up the
area and help out is start sniping low lifes :)

See a dude smacking a chick, snipe him.
Dude pass' on the shoulder at 60mph, snipe him.
Someone texting in traffic? snipe them.
Someone parked in the handicapped spot "just" for a
second....snipe them.

All the small actions on your part will help police and make
the area a LOT nicer to live in and we wont need to bother
the police. To be sure we're all on the same page we could
go out as groups, we all need to agree at that moment we
are clear on verdict: Snipe the mutha!

I was wondering the same thing. IF that goes through every last car enthusiast needs to go out and get vanity plates. Because unless your plates are new since that gets passed if won't count. I sure the hell will. Even for my camry. Shit I'll get plates that say Camry just cause.

I hate this law something terrible. There's hardly any other states that have this law. WI just uses it to tax people.

You cant even get a suburban cops opinion on something like this, the most action they get is for a farmer fvcking his cattle or the ocassional dui.. Im sure they sent someone there, but if there was something more serious going on that required atttention then it may not have been instant. The only way to combat that is to hire more cops or allow more overtime which the citizens will all bitch about because that means that taxes will go up...

But on that note, suburban cops are assholes who will hassle you for no reason and I guarantee that almost half wouldnt survive in the "hood" just because they have no street smarts and are there just to reuin someones day.

But I will agree that the dispatcher shold have done a bit more, at least said have a nice night or something to that affect.

6:45 this morning I about had to push a Tosa officer out
of my way trying to get to work, he was seriously checking
every single driver out checking out plates and wandering
back and forth thru traffic, gave him a "what the hell your
gonna get hit" look as I passed him (he doing like 15 on
HWY100)......then there is a guy I work with pulled over
in his Jag from ANOTHER Tosa cop on HWY100! He said
there were cops everywhere on HWY this morning, he had
a generic excuse for pulling him over but let him go when
there was in fact no problem with his lights or plates.

My moms car was broken into, the trunk was completely destroyed, front window destroyed and an old ass cd player was stolen. We called the cops and they said unless there is more than $2k in damage that they can't do anything about it.....I go driving down 27th and see 3 piggies on bikes setting up speed traps, thanks a lot MPD!:flipoff2:

Added: You could have some serious fun with this- Cop coming the other way, sees no plate, hooks u-turn to pull you over... You flip the switch as he's walking up to you from the rear...

"Do you know why I stopped you sir?"

"I have no idea, did I do something wrong??"

"You have no front plate, I will have to cite you for that!"

"I DO have a front plate! Unless someone stole it sir!"

"Step out of the car, I will show you that you do NOT have a front plate!"

The look on his face when the plate is now there would probably be priceless... :rolf

Then he will inspect your plate and find it mounted on a motorized do-dad that makes the plate come and go. He will them point out that the citation he is handing you is for "Failure to properly DISPLAY a front plate."

The look then on you face will be priceless...
