Does anyone here have access to a headlight aiming machine like the dealers use and the correct tools to do the job? I just replaced my headlight assemblies and they seem off. I even switched the adjusters over from my old lights but its just not right. I am willing to pay on the side for the help.

I usually adjust them myself till they seem right.

Here is how I go about doing this:
I first figure out which of my two headlights is aimed in a more-preferred direction.
I then park my car in front of a wall and on a level surface.
I then adjust the out-of alignment light until it shines on the wall at the same level as the good light.

I might try that but I gotta go buy the tool. The only thing that concerns me is that I replaced both assemblies so I am not really sure if either are correct.

Yeah I get flashed periodically which is why I know they are off. Not nearly as bad as Liz's car though :rolf

My left headlight is aimed about 10 degrees up.

I was thinking about fixing it, but soon realized that it is very useful for getting slow movers out of the way. All I need to do is get about 4-5 car lengths behind them and it shines right in their rear view mirror. Works EVERY time!

I had people flipping us off in our beater Taurus so I just cut the front coil springs in order to lower the beam angle.....:goof

General rule of thumb is if your standing in front of the car on a level surface and you stand back about 2 to 4 feet the center beam should hit your knee cap area depending on your height. So 28 to 36 " should be about right.

Got the lights aimed today. They were WAY off. I just tried holeshots test and thats right where the light beam hits my leg. Just above the knee. Maybe I'll be able to see the road now.
