What kind of gas mileage do you get with a Crown Vic? I miss driving a fullsize car since I got rid of my old 1996 Eighty Eight and have driven a few CVPI's and I liked them. I drive to Burlington from Stallis everyday so mileage is at least a littl important to me:goof
Thinking of something at least 98 or newer probably 01 and up if I do it.

I gotta 99 Crown Vic Police and it seems to get OK mileage.....I never really figured it out but , I can say it's not a " gas pig " by any means.....I'm looking to getta 03 or newer Crown Vic Sport next as i REALLY like the panther platform....

If you can swing it get a 2004 best of the crop all the bugs worked out from the 2003 suspension redesign and also the best factory tune and power. 2005's got the shi**y electronic drive by wire throttle and there is lots of lag I have heard.

With my LX I have the 2.73 rear gears, if driven nicely I can get 16-18 City and on a trip to florida I pulled 26 on the highway. On a CVPi with the 3.27 or 3.55's expect that mileage to go down a few ticks.

Here is a place that specializes in Used P71's

I had a friend who dealt with them a few years ago. Definitely a decent place to buy from.

*EDIT* It appears that second best factory tune was the 1999 model year, and of course the PI heads started in 2001

That's a reasonable mileage range. My GP gets 22-23 with a mix of city and highway and my Wagon gets around 18 with a mix.

Are there any good Crown Vic forums?

Also , the Crowns go good through the snow with " winter tires " .....without winter tires it's another story.......I have Blizzaks on mine and even deep snow really didn't stop me.....

Absolutely, I have Nokian Hakkapelitta RSI's on mine. Do not get a Crown without getting good snow tires to swap on in winter. It makes a tremendous difference.
