Now THAT is a stretch. The 1911, yes, the Superposed, yes, a pre-war Model 70, yes, but to call any of the plastic fantastics some of the best firearms ever made (yes, this would include Gaston Glocks masterpiece) is a little much:rolf

Bob, i consider it one of the best firearms ever made because I put a 5" XD40 Tactical through a war (literally) and it never once had a issue. That is alot more then I can say for the durability and reliablity of a 1911 style pistol... Sand and Dirt = No More Function!

You may want to steer away from the new MP series of Smiths also Mike, they just had a massive recall. Seems like after their metal framed autos went buh-bye they have lost their mojo in the auto handgun market.

As asked, what kind of price are we talking? PM it if you'd rather.

Not to take away from the OP, how much do you think a lightly used xd45 tactical would go for? We're talking less than 100 rds with black frame and stainless slide.

Brian is a licensed gun dealer and is going to be sponsoring BCM's Outdoors and Sportsman section. We haven't made the formal introductions yet, but it is in the works. :thumbsup

Should have checked badger, cabelas is high... Badger usually has the 5" Tactical .40's in the case for around $525 new. I purchase alot of guns from badger, they seem to be able to get me some great pricing as they move such a large quanitity of firearms.

I am pretty sure it was just the Walther PPK pistols that were recalled (which apparently S&W owns), not the Smiths that were recalled. At least that is the only article I have read. I have seen very positive reviews, comparisons, shootouts, etc. on the M&P series stuff.
