where in oak creek?

I believe on Howell with everything else. I read in the paper that Oak Creek wants sonic to change its colors to match the rest of the "new" part of the city and sonic said ok. They also said if sonic doesn't last (because there is nowhere to eat on the property in winter) that it is sonic's responsibility to rip the building down. Sonic said ok though I guess so we'll see what happens.

possibly a new hangout?

02-24-2009, 01:11 PM
Ugh, that crap annoys me with the suburbs. Like, Greenfield and their requirement of everything being "earth tone colors" etc. Some of it looks very nice, but after awhile it all looks the same and the area just looks very Blah....

Holeshot

possibly a new hangout?

Guess that depends on lot size. I know the Miller Park location is small. Would be cool to claim a Sonics in the name of Brew City Muscle :banana1:

I dont think any sonics has inside dining so they are all in the same boat

Korndogg
02-24-2009, 01:22 PM
yeah I know but Oak Creek is the one thats saying if it doesn't work it'll be up to them to tear it down lol.

Oh and some of them do have inside dining now.

88Nightmare
02-24-2009, 01:23 PM
well if its privately owned, Im pretty sure it would be the property owners to take down a building, not the city

Korndogg
02-24-2009, 01:26 PM
I know but usually the city doesn't make someone tear down a building if it doesn't work out. They usually just sell the building to someone else and they move in. But because it is a drive in, there would be no other use for it so the city is saying that if they close down, they have to tear it down also.

88Nightmare
02-24-2009, 01:31 PM
oooo I see what you are sayin.

They could use it for an A&W :D

Korndogg
02-24-2009, 01:32 PM
haha yeah thats what I thought too but I doubt that would happen.

88Nightmare
02-24-2009, 01:39 PM
given the frequent crappy winters around here, sometimes cool spring and fall seasons, and short summers, you'd think they would build their restaurants with a LITTLE bit of inside dining. But either way, people could just take their food to go.

So at any rate... for them to advertise sonics on our local stations and finally build restaurants 3 years later..... build hype and desire to try their products..... marketing ploy???

Dr.Buick

I would love to try it. But I will wait about a month before I go and the rush calms down and such. I don't feel like waiting 2 hours for a burger.

b4mytm
02-24-2009, 04:53 PM
I figured I would give it shot going down there after work. Got there about 3:45 and they said it was an hour wait just to get to the drive thru. They had a staging area set up for all of the cars.
I did not wait.

Try again in a few weeks maybe.

I had sonic when I was in San Angelo Texas with the military they were everywhere, I will wait untill the rush dies down in a month or two and try it again.

I like sonic but it's not much different than so many of the other burger joints. I'd prefer Oscars or Kopps.

Taco Bell got the same flack from Muskego. They won't change their corporate colors just to fit in to some asshat's idea of a city's color scheme.

The definition would prevent the proliferation of lower-quality kiosks, such as coffee or hot dog stands, throughout the city

Is that a joke??? They don't want 'lower-quality' businesses???

I mean, what, are they trying to be the next 'Brookfield'???

Are tehy really that stupid to think if they are snobs they will get 'higher quality' residents???

Get a farkin clue, it is OAK CREEK, a stones throw away from CUDAHY and South Milwaukee, both of which are far from being 'snobbish' areas...

I guess they will want all the manufacturing to move out next, so they can become the next biggest 'consumer center' for SE-Wisconsin... Hell, are they going to try to put a mega-mall in next, or let me guess, that is too 'low-brow' for them... :rolf

Can we assume that you own a hot dog or coffee stand?

speakin of coffee stands; if you try and buy coffee at starbucks with a fifty dollar bill they give you the coffee for free because they won't break anything larger than a 20.

No, but what kind of a stupid set of 'social culling' are they trying to obtain... A small 'kiosk' business isn't 'good enough' for Oak Creek??!?? :rolf

as far as quality of the town itself, oak creek is still far away from brookfield, but still far away from cudahy :rolf

the kind of houses being built in oak creek in the past five years are all averaging clear over 200k selling prices. actually probably closer to 250k. pretty nice looking houses. more and more businesses moving in. since my family moved in here in 1998, not only has our house value increased over 50k, but I've seen: quiznos, taco bell, buffalo wild wings, subway, target, office max, paneras, jimmy johns, a few starbucks, radio shack, woodmans, a few cell phone stores, ace hardware, at least 8 different banks, tazinos buffet, an urgent care facility, a gamestop, coldstone creamery, a few hair salons, a specialty gift/chocolate/sweets shop, an asian restaurant, an auto zone, a few office buildings including an office building for masterlock, and a walgreens all go up over the past 10 years... and all centrally located on howell ave. no malls here......yet. so its no brookfield, but still miles ahead of cudahy.

where do you live, west allis? :rolf :rolf :rolf :rolf :rolf

I don't lie about free Starbucks. This happened last Saturday at the Starbucks on 1st and Holt by Pick-n-Save.

Voodoo Chick
02-26-2009, 01:27 AM
That actually is true.....my husband is a big fan of Starbucks, and not only will they not break a $50, if they have to make you wait while they brew fresh coffee, you get that free, as well. Hell, if you are a regular customer, they'll give you free coffee pretty often.

Not a fan. The burgers had no flavor and the fries were horrible. Fudruckers is 1,000 times better.
