[GRAMPS SS]

just got home from a 4 hr visit to the hospital...Sean went snow boarding and got some big air...he said he sould of aborted, but didn't ,came down HARD...his hand and wrist and arm look lie the letter Z....they may have to do surgery, but the ortho on call didn't feel it was bad enough to come in and take a look...what a fvck head...the bone is snapped in two and part of his wrist snapped as well but send the lad home...they gave him a script for vikadan(spelling) sorry no samples...left overs just for me...:rolf:rolf:rolf:rolf:rolf
so now we have to wait till the doc calls us tomorrow on what they will do tomorrow...Ann being a RN is not happy...i told her we should of went to Childrens...but she went somewhere else...but now thinks i was right...imageine that..i was right about something....

he's resting comfort...watching the races and getting ready to nod off from the good stuff....

will keep ya all posted on what happenes tomorrow,,,,

no, when i got the call i thought the same thing.......they gave him morphine(spelling) and he told the nurse and doc he had to bowl this weekend..:rolf:rolf:rolf:rolf:rolf:rolf he didn't care about his broken parts...just about bowling....tell me he don't love the sport....

just hope it heals right the first time..i seen the x-ray...it's fvcked up....the doc at ER said they may have to pin it...we'll find out more tomorrow....Ann will be staying home and then calling me when the doc calls and then where ever i am , i'm leaving to be with him....as you all know he's my little buddy...

by the way...sean was invited to be in INDY July 18th -20th for a high school singles scholarship championship...100k , 15k to the winner in each group...i thought i'd share that with ya as well...blew me away that he would be invited to something like that...........

Oh ouch! Hope the pain medication helps and you guys find a good doctor/surgeon! He's too young to have problems in the future because of this injury. Also glad it wasn't his bowling arm!

the doc he has is supose to be one of the best around...Ann says she knows him...and she said he's good...so i think he'll be in good hands...just bpissed me off that he wouldn't come in while ON CALL... and check him out..instead send the little guy home to wait....

he's home till we get a call from the doc on when they want to do surgery....just gave him a perk like 5 mins ago,,,,he's out like a light...

If it's a fairly "stable" fracture (which it almost certainly is), it shouldn't be too bad. They'll reset the bone, pushing until it's reasonably straight (which will probably be pretty painful...they might give him a fair dose of valium to kind of keep him out of it).

At this age, kids heal pretty well from these type of fractures...as they say, his prognosis is excellent.

There are some conditions in which they'll rush in...dislocations, fractures with deformities so large that vascular supply is at risk, "open" (IE, compound) fractures...otherwise, you have a fairly open window to treat the fracture before the passing of time/healing will complicate things.

We can rebuild him...we have the technology! You know he is going to have to relearn his bowling aim. No balancing the ball with his hurt arm at all.

ok sean is signed in but it's gramps typing this...what he has is a Distal radius and ulnar styloid fracture...he is getting op on today at 2:30....thanks to all so far for CARING and your wishes....he's online for awhile then back to rest,....

just got back from the hospital. they didn't have the stuff to make the cast any color so it is white and it was done the old fashioned way, like paper mache. it is very heavy. i will most likely try bowling real soon i'll be oracticing on the wii. i'll tell you how it turns out
