Fellow Motorsport Enthusiast,

The Midwest F-Body Association has opened registration for its spring, ‘09 event.

The dates will be April 18 & 19, 2009.

We are still working on updating the website so please print the attached registration form and Liability waiver and mail it to the address below. You can pay by Check or Paypal.

The email address for Paypal payments is mfba@fbody.us and for Checks please make them out to Midwest F-body Association.

For those who are familiar with our event already, there will be some changes made regarding registration procedures.
Changes Noted Below:

Payment Cost:

Date Range_______________Weekend________1 Day
Before Jan 15 ____________ $395 ___________$230
After Jan 16 to Mar 1_______ $445___________$255
Mar 2 to Event_____________$495___________$280

The Mailing Address has also Changed to the Following: MFBA
Attn: Carmen Drays
4924 Fielding Road
Rockford, IL 61102

For our upcoming April, 2009 event we are urging that most payments and registration forms be submitted before January 15, 2009 to cover the cost of the deposit for the track rental. Most other aspects of the event itself will remain the same, however we are looking to add several popular vendors onsite that will be selling parts. For those who are not familiar with our event, we are going into our 9th year running and offer the opportunity for the automotive enthusiast to drive their car on the famed Road America racetrack in Elkhart Lake, WI.

We have 4 different run groups available so that whether you are a novice that has never driven on a track before, a seasoned race driver or somewhere in-between, you will be placed with drivers of similar experience. Our event caters to you getting effective track time in a controlled environment, and having fun while doing it.

This is a 2 day non-timed, non-competitive event and instructors will be available to for coaching and ride-alongs.
Event alumni includes members from the SCCA, NASA, Midwest Council, Northwoods Region Shelby Club, Porsche Club of America, Badger Bimmers, American LeMans Series, and many other fine organizations.

For further event information or questions, please visit http://roadamerica.fbody.us or email us at roadamerica@fbody.us

Is this the only event like this this year? I'd like to do it, as this is the direction I'm taking my car; but I don't think it will be ready to be flogged on a road course in mid April. I'd like to put some miles on it on the street to shake the bugs out.

Haha, Any car with over 300 hp should be able to do 140+ on the front straight. I'll be winding out 5th gear. Not the place to see if your brakes work or not. What brakes are you running and how much does the car weigh?

i think so Michelle,
go to MFBA site,
and ask Carmen!
there is a place for volunteers, to sign up on that site.

I would guess the car weighs 3500 pounds. the brakes, oh, those are 13 inch cobras on the front and 11.65's on the rear...

Factory Cobra calipers. It's just factory 03/04 cobra shit front and rear. Not the best shit ever to stop a car. It's a lil better than the 10.5" front rotors and 9" rear drums that were on the car stock.

Any body want to place their goals for lap times this year? Mine is 2:27, my mechanic (very good mechanic, with a impressive resume) says 2:25 should be possible with minor changes. Keep in mind the motor is a stock LS6.

Just one event a year? Or will you guys be having more?

No way I can make it to this one, just too early in the season. If you have one later in the season I would definately be interested.

Low 2:3x's are what I'll be shooting for next time out. No doubt the car is capable of better, just slowly tightening the nut behind the wheel and getting feet wet with adjusting tire pressures/suspension for track conditions.

2:27 with a stock ls6 is :wow

Dang, thats moving pretty well, the ama super bikes run 2:10-2:11. Its even crazier to think about the lap record of 1:39.866 by Dario Franchitti in a champ car. Man i wish those guys would come back (now just the IRL i think) , i never got up there to see them at RA. I probably won't be able to drive this year as the car isn't ready and i just got another car, lol. might be up to watch though.

07Roush: You need a good GM computer or something ;) then the Govt will give you a billion to make it work...for a week more...

Andy: That would be great, a few pics! Thanks!
Just got the Traqmate, did not have time to find tap for tachometer input. It is pretty neat deal, can see your laps and compare them, G's, braking etc to (try) to get better, and it makes neat videos :)
SSLEVO: GTR now has a midpipe that takes out a couple cats and adds some HP. I have to adjust the gain on the incar mic down, it is way overloading on this...first time out with it...
Thanks FT, I can't stop watching that monkey and dog video, you KNOW that monkey is SCREAMING...ROFL
