original air in tires still??? thats one demented owner to park it because of a door ding. how much work would that need to be in running condition again since its had the original oil in it sitting for 39+ years?

A customer of mine found a 1961 Ford Falcon, straight six, 3 speed, 4 door with 700 original miles. It was an estate sale, the tires rotted to the ground. Complete fluid change, and it fired right up. He's done almost nothing to the car and it's going to be a driver. He says that you'll find better looking Falcons at shows, since the build quality of older cars aren't nearly as good as people putting back together today. I'll see it this summer, maybe take some pictures...

That's a good deal but I meant the Camaro.

Pretty car....I like the ones with "history" better, though.

The analy (if thats a word) restored cars don't have any body panel gaps, overspray, messy undercoats, etc.....I only read a handful of pages on the thread but seeing some not-so-perfect things done from the factory is interesting and funny.

I assume the guy changed the 39 year old oil, it sounded like he wasn't for awhile though :slap: . Awesome to look at but I'm not sure I could handle or want a car that I can't really drive.

theres a story in this months hot rod magazine where a guy found an 85 IROC in a shipping container. Covered in a thick layer of dust, it had the factory plastic covers on the seats and steering wheel, floor etc. Had not even been dealer prepped, I think it had 3.4 miles on the thing!

WOW what a story, and much more so for me because my father has a `70 almost identical. The only difference is a manual trans, tan interior, and some chrome dress up stuff for the enigne bay (still has ALL of the original pieces). I will for sure tell him the story, and all because of a small dent in the door......

You failed to look at the engine....................The engine area looks shitty for a car with 1,200 miles.

That can be cleaned up with ease; it's just dirt/oil accumulation from all the years of sitting.....

I'm still trying to figure out what the censored word in the title is. Epic? Cool? It's 4 letters and I'm assuming it's good.

Seriously. He got butthurt because some one door dinged it and parked it. It's an off the lot production car. It has no soul. It has no history. It's as useful as a model on the shelf. A car that is not driven is a waste. Cars are to be driven.

I can definitely see your point but it's still a rare sight to see one with such low mileage and in near perfect condition.....:)

Actually a performance/muscle car with ultra low miles on it is prolly more common than, say, an econobox with no miles. It would be cooler if it was an early seventy's wagon, old Imperial, Hurst 300, turbo'd '81 Buick Riviera. Something unusual. Something with some flair. Like a 1973 Lincoln Continental Limo. For the record: the 1973 Lincoln Continental Coupe was the best looking car ever made.
