From the Chicago Auto show 2009

Good show overall. Without a doubt noticed the decreased size of the displays and cars available. Mercedes had a nice section, Subaru had a halfway decent display. VW had a really nice one too. Not surprising though given the economy.

50mm 1.4 USM

Nick you took all those with the 50mm? Awesome pics as usual! I want to go down this weekend if I don't work and would like to use my 50mm but thought I would be to close most of the time for the 50mm. I used my kit lens at wow but would like to use the prime!

Yep all with the 50mm. Never took it off all weekend.
Use the 50mm for sure. The extra bokeh is fantastic for the low-light situations. It wasn't too hard to get shots with it. People were pretty courteous.

What PS filters were you using to get the high contrast look you put into these. I live the overall feel. Was the vignette from the camera or part of your pp?

I do everything in lightroom.
If I remember correctly - I increased fill lights and blacks, increased exposure slightly to blow it out a bit, then corrected with recovery.

Took down saturation in a number of different colors, increased vibrance and added some more vignette effect. I have my "Timeless" process preset in lightroom and I adjust each image individually based off that preset because they are not all the same or look right with the preset applied by default.

I can give you more info when I get home late tonight fa sho. I'll PM you.

PM me when you find out too because I asked you the same question earlier... just not here.

Thats what I was guessing it entailed. I can see the desaturation of the reds but it does the photos right. Running the f-stop you were combined with the pp really makes them stand out, nice work.

Very nice pics and processing! I got lost reading the descriptions....I think I will just need to get my shit together some day here and get some proper photos from the BCM photo pros, as they certainly have talent in making great shots look even more amazing with a bit of processing time put into them by an experienced user.
