On a vehicles title, it indicates the vehicles color. If you are applying for a title today, but in the future, plan to repaint and change the color of the vehicle, does it matter? Would I need to retitle the vehicle or can I contact the DMV and have them make the changes?

Technically the color stated on the title should match the vehicle's color no matter what. My wife was pulled over in Mequon because the title for our `89 Taurus says blue and I painted it satin black. The officer gave her a hard time about it and said that we needed to get it changed ASAP. However, no written notice/fine was issued so you can guess what happened.....
If you are 100% positive that you will be painting the vehicle a different color than title it under the 'new' color.....:thumbsup

its not going to be leaving the garage until all the work, including painting, is done on it anyway so I don't think it will be a big issue
What are you going to paint, the rust HOLES?
I would wait to title it Mike, you can't drive it anyways.

it needs a lot of work before it hits the streets, so it would be kind of a waste to title it now, I just figured for the previous owners sake, I'd get the vehicle out of his name and title it under my name

Just title it in it's current color, then when it's painted, just re-register in it's new color when due.

If you tell them at the counter to change the color then they will.
