About 8 of us are planning to go to Vegas at the end of the year. Is using a travel agent even something people do anymore? Or can a guy get just as good of a deal themselves using Travelocity or Orbitz or a site like that?

If travel agents still the people to use to get it done, referrals would be appreciated.

Thanks!

when i went with my parents and girlfriend we used a travel agent..to me it was just easier that way...one price for everything if we had a problem we could call them and they would fix it...we went threw fox travel i believe thats what it was called..only cost 725 a person for 6 nights 7 days and airfair.

Use orbitz, hotels.com, travelocity, for your hotels and book your flight right from Midwestairlines.com. Thats the best price you'll get, unless you are a true degenerate gambler and get rooms compt.

Also you have to go to Spearment Rhino, by far the best strip club in the country. On a Friday and Saturday night they have on average 300 strippers in house.

I have been going to vegas many times a year for twenty years and can answer just about any question you may have.

Flights
out of Milwaukee you only have two choices for a direct flight, Air Tran or Midwest. You can book with Northwest but it will be a Midwest flight. Air Tran will be cheaper.

Out of Chicago you have numerous choices but Milwaukee will usually be cheaper unless you are willing to fly out of Midway then you can fly Southwest. I would not suggest it.

Hotels

What's your budget and when are you going? Prices vary depending on conventions.

Clubs
to many to choose from. Be preparred to spend!!!!

Strip club
As stated above. The Rhino is the best!!

PM me with any questions.

Vegas can be a blast on $100.00 a day or $10,000.00 a day.

^^^^^^I approve of this message. Wife and I usually go 2-3 times a year. Always book through midwests website since they usually have deals. Hotels are done through their websites as well.

i get comped at every harrahs casino but if you're looking to book, check out hotels.com as they will list the new strip casinos and the old strip casinos. airfare, usually airtran is the cheapest! when traveling on the strip, take the deuce as its 5 bucks for a 24 hr pass compared to to a taxi which can be 10 bucks just to get from one strip casino to another. food, go to the old strip (fremont st) as they have great deals on buffets and what not. clubs, well they can get quite expensive so i'm more of a sports bar person like the carnival court outside of harrahs which has flare bartenders and blackjack tables outside and even a great live band that takes any requests. another good irish bar is mcfaddons inside rio, definitely check that out for beer pong and great drink specials. hopefully that helps a little. lol

I just booked a trip for Vegas....Expedia is far and away the cheapest, for a NON STOP flight.

Wynn Buffet for Buffets. Huge already peeled shrimp.

Steak and/or Lobster at Rosewood grill, best steak Ive ever ate.

Check out Ceasars Mall.

Go to the Bellagio, and go to the Piano Bar near the center of the casino. Its an awesome place to chill.

Go Downtown and see Freemont Light show at night. Also check out Mermaids Casino there, they force drinks on you.

So the answer to my question is that a fair majority of people just book their own deals.

I think I'm going to book a block of rooms at the Flamingo Hilton. It's pretty central and not expensive like the MGM or the Ballagio.

My wife and I are going to probably take Midwest out there because I have miles earned up. If the others don't want to fly Midwest, it's every person for themself to get there.

Hotels.com doesn't seem to want to let me book from 12/30-1/3. I think I'm trying to book too far in advance.....

what you want is the "Go Room" thats where they usually stick me. great features such as tv in the bathroom mirror, nice big plasma with surround sound, and a button that opens and closes the drapes by your bed. lol dave when the heck are you going??

Go to Expedia, got to vacations, choose dates, sort by price, and then in each hotel choice you can choose a different fight, and it will give u options.

After u choose flights, you can the SELECT ANOTHER HOTEL for this vacation. :thumbsup

Got it, thanks. I guess the others might want to be cheap. I'll pay the extra to go ME non stop versus getting off in Minneapolis and Salt Lake City to switch planes. They can do whatever the hell they want, LOL.

Air Tran also has direct flights. If you are going for new years you might want to wait until the last minute. If things don't look good for New Years the week before Christmas they will then lower the prices. Take my advise, I have not paid for a room in Vegas for 15 years. I have been there on 12/31 and it is a blast and amazing how quick they clear off the strip after midnight.

If any of you are 50 or older, get that AARP card and get the discount for hotel, flights, rental cars.
