As long as you have gears you can take any piece of crap and climb rocks. I saw some guy in a tiny Datsun pickup with no box and some aftermarket gears crawl all over Moab. For like $2K you can have a ball!

Them things are pretty good 4x4s factory...at least for what they are.

Yeah, had one once. Complete with 31x10.50s. Kind of gutless like most Jeeps. You could get them with NP107, NP207, and NP208s.

I'll keep my big dumb mud truck.

Buddy of mine who lurks on BCM got a mint AMC wagon
and a fuel injected crashed Cherokee:

Fuel injected basicaly plug and play coversion to 4.0.

Those Eagle owners have dozens of pretty hard core

I've always been a fan of the old eagle wagon in particular...I'd buy Russ's bud's AMC in a heartbeat...these days I'm too lazy (or married) to do it on my own, lol.

Awesome! I remember when Subaru used to advertise themselves as having the first "4 wheel drive sport utility wagon" Seems they forgot about the lowly AMC Eagles.

I knew someone with one of those hatchback ones.
I miss my little Subaru hatch FWD and hi and low 4wd. Had over 250K when I gave it back to the orig owner who I bought it from. Still had the original clutch. It was slow as shit , but when the snow came out it sprouted a superman cape:rolf

The Eagles? I'm the first to admit I know f*ckall about these cars, but they came with the NP119, NP128 or the NP129. With the majority of them getting the 129. The jeeps got the two speed 07s.

I should really get out in the garage and get working. Winter is almost over!

I'm going to be beating the ladies of with a stick when this ride hits the road. :thumbsup
