Hey guys, my name is Nick and i just moved down here last summer. What's going on around here with the club and what do you guys drive? I see they do auto-x at miller park and have heard something about HWY 100. A few years back i had a cammed 95 camaro running 12.3's@114. I have since sold that and got into a evo for a little fun in the corners and i love it, did one track day at BIR and one event at Shawano last summer.

Hello, and welcome to BCM! I have two Camaros, and an Olds. People's cars here are quite varied, many different types, and personalities. HWY 100 is the "cruising strip" and where many of us go in spring/summer, it can be lots of fun, in ideal situations. Keep looking in the "events" forum, and you'll see any special stuff happening!

Welcome.

As you stated your Evo is going to be a track biased vehicle, so I suggest Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. There are plenty of group events there and you can get track time easily.

Gus's in East Troy is a fun hang on Sat. nights from 4:30 to 8PM. The Hot Rod Power Tour runs through Madison and Racine this year (first week in June). Great Lakes Dragaway is another favorite spot, Wed. nights and Sunday open "fun" days at the dragstrip are fun.

I have a neighbor with an '08 STI and I'll ask him if there are any specific track events for your type of car. I have a Mustang and I primarily do the Mustang specific track days. I go to GLD to spectate mostly since my car is "slow".

Thanks, that's always my favorite comment. Definitely get to Road America for the American Le Mans Series race! It's an event you cannot afford to miss!

Haha, yeah i'm well past the F&F street racing days, lol. Sure if a guy wants to run once at a light i may go for it though :devil I have been to road america the last 4 years for the AMA races but never any car events. The Adult camping is getting less fun each year, i mean drunk guys doing burnouts on 180hp bikes at 2am sounds safe to me:rolf

Welcome to the site. I used to autocross back when I had a 76 AMC Hornet, lowered, 304 V8. Pretty much stock. Surprised a few Challengers and F bodies. The Mustangs were tighter handling though.

The Milwauke car scene is fairly diverse, but your car will be judged on its 1/4 mile time by most.

Although there are alot of good car shows, and Auto X events.

Welcome! This place rules because of its diversity. Its a "car" club, all cars are welcome. But I must say, General Forums gets the most action, which is every bit but about cars, hahahaha! Fun stuff! The actual scene is what you make it, avoid HWY for pleasure, but if there is a meet and greet going on up there for BCM, its worth it then. Troublesome place....

Basically all the really tough stuff sits in the garage Saturday nites. Then the heavy ones come on here and say that there car is a streetcar.

Dont be afraid to check out the hwy, with a evo youll be the fastest one that actually shows up on the hwy on a saturday nite. Since everybody is scared driving with other cars on the HWY that are looking for some action also.:wow

well if my mustang is finished by summer ill go down there a few times..

i will say there are 2 cobalts one black one red that are turboed and in the 430hp,lets just say matching torque curves. they are for sure done and will be down there. one of them being cobaltss_tuners car...

not like those are big number cars but they should be in the low 12's high 11's from what ive seen other cars with the same setup do

Sprayaway Fox
01-29-2009, 01:36 PM
Thats still quicker than most of the sheet down there, the way it seems. The "muscle" cars sit in the garage and get fat all summer. While the import crowd is representing flexin there "muscle".

I take my T/A up to HWY 100 all the time in the summer. Every once in a while, there is a really nice car, but I like going because mine is one of the nicer cars you never see up there and everyone just stares. I think after I got it, I took it up there every Friday and sat after work. lol

Meh, i ran it once at GLD last fall, ran a best of 13.1@107 with a 1.81 60'. I was runing on a 93 oct tune and put in 5 gal of 110 on an almost empty tank. I bet i would have ran faster on pump gas, lol. I set the boost to peak at 25-26 lbs but it needed more timing and my computer cable wasn't working for some reason. I just can't shift it like i did in my T56 camaro either. The 1-2 shift is killing me. I think i'm going to head down to ams and tune it to run on E85 this spring. That should net some solid low 12's if i can get the trans to shift, lol.

I've seen some pretty wicked shit in my time.

One night... I won't say where or what... but lets just say there was a "gathering of illegal activity".

I saw a heavily modded RX2, a NASTY FD RX7 from Chicago, a Cobra replica, several muscle cars (one was a particularly quick orange Charger)... I've seen a few pretty wicked cars out.

Does that guy still run the F40 on HWY?

i will say i saw a black maro lift the front tires off the ground racing a heavily modded gnx and a crotch rocket. the gnx won.. that was 3 years ago. i believe the gnx was in the 700 hp range now that same car will be putting down 1,400 hp.. street legal..
