Anyone have one??? I am looking at using some of my tax return and picking one. Its not going to be just a show gun I want one that I can take to the range and blast along with my AR15. So just looking I have a couple places in mind I want to pick one up at so thats not a problem. Just looking for some insight.

I have one. Picked it up at a gun shop up in Chetek. The CMP is definitely your best bet cost wise (for ammo too). I have 50-some clips if you want to buy a few off of me. :D

most of the ones being doled out by the CMP have generally been in the higher (for SA) serial # range of 5.3-5.8 million. Both of the ones I had received were on the 5.8 million range and were from 1955, post war ones are nice because they seem to be mostly original and seemed to avoid the many re-builds.

Oddly enough, I had those for dinner.

They are the best, by far, in the market. Nathan's being 2nd.

Yeah since I meet the requirements to get one from CMP thats why I am looking there. I am also thinking of a road trip to pick my own out from their stock.

Easy as pie. Well worth it!!! Do it if you can. Those cardboard with foam boxes that the M-1's come in from the CMP...if you get an M-1 and no longer want the box I would gladly take it off your hands.

Yeah I want to make a road trip down there and pick my own out. That would make the whole thing even more meaningful to me
