Black it out, lots of contrast, much more striking!

I just noticed something. That stupid chrome license plate frame is long gone. It looks ridiculous with the black trim anyway.

My Idea is this. Leave the chrome trim on the car. It breaks up the black and the white nicely in my own opinion. Looks like there is chrome on the top of the black part so I put chrome under the black part and kept the chrome trim on the bottom.

I also was told painting over chrome doesnt always stick so You might have an issue there in a couple of years.

Here is my Idea on your car.

Edit also I think this would look very cool with the tails tinted or with out. and you can keep your chrome License plate frame :D

i like the blacked out paint and the black chrome, in the second pic......you can always have the chrome molding anodized if the paint won't stick...which i don't think it will...do it right the first time...the car will look sweet with your ideas...:thumbsup

def tint the tail light lens, and the windows darker...

Thanks guys,

I like Silver350's Idea also. This is gonna be a tougher decision than I thought. Guess I better talk to my painter and see what he thinks will last.

I think It would cost a little less just painting that pannel Most of the prep work like removing the molding on the trunk could be done yourself

leave it be and strap a kenne bell to the car

You can get the taillights with the black on them instesd of chrome(I think I have a set) and the pannel on back of the trunk and bumper moulding can also be purchased in black new from ford. I work on alot of Milwaukee squads at the bodyshop im at. Then you would have no issue with the paint peelin off the chrome.

That's how I would do it for sure.

I think you should do BOTH the black and the chrome as Silver350 suggested. I think this looks good and is VERY original. You would have the only car like that and it looks great. Plus you could leave all the chrome on the rest of the car and make life MUCH easier.

Crap, it turns out this spoiler is extremely Rare. Its a Roush Spoiler made for the Bondurant racing Cobra vics. Im working on tracking one down.

A little too dark for my tastes, but I like the general Idea.

i personally love the look of a white car w/ blacked out lights/grill/tails so i say go for it.

I would definatly tint the reverse lights how ever I dont know if I am that fond of the tinted tails. might be a little too much.

blacked out panel for sure...no tinted tails though...

If I black out the chrome I might just get Marauder Taillights which are slightly tinted right from Ford. Or I could also do the S55 Marauder package which Basically is the high points of the taillight painted black(I'd use Nightshade) and the inset parts of the backup lamps and taillights would be normal.

Here is an example of the S55 treatment on a white vic. This is also why I hesitate whiting out the whole car. If I do this I would do black on the tails and backup lights.

Ha, I got called a ricer for the simple blacked out panel and tiny little spoiler. I guess thats what I get for asking the opinion of Anti-rice.com :rolf

Ok, its official. I am going with the Roush Spoiler(yes I found one) THe black panel with chrome trim, and I think I am gonna remove the bumper chrome trim completely. That will make the car look like it is a 2009. Ford stopped putting that trim on the car after 2006.

It'll probably look real pretty when you're done.....Good luck, can't wait to see the "after" pics! :)

I don't know if "pretty" is what he's going for, but yeah, people will like it better than stock. I think you have good taste and as long as you don't go to far all at once, you can gradually step the appearance changes.

So this will be a "pretty" "non-rice" mod! :goof

Well, the Car goes in March 9th for the body work. Spoiler Black out panel//leaving the chrome trim under the taillights. Bumpers are also getting redone so I will be axing the chrome strip since they gotta come off anyway to paint the bumpers. Thanks again for all the ideas and for voting guys.
