Hmm, considering that was sold out by 4pm, does that mean we should all start posting deals we got that others got stomped out on? :stare :fire

Maybe start a 'Gloating' forum? :goof :rolf :wooo

Seriously, posts like this only are made to irritate others... Really no point in them if no-one else can partake...

Personally, I could care less, saw the deal, could have got in on one, but already have a 9950BE... :thumbsup

I gotcha... I know I would have been pissed if I waited to pick one up and lost out on a deal like that myself, that is all...

You'll like the setup... Hopefully you can get more than 2.9GHz out of it stable, as that is where I am stuck on mine right now, but I am using it on a nVidia 780a motherboard (got a GTX280 and plan on at least 1 more for SLI, if not 2 more if they drop low enough in price), whereas the 780g/sb700 chipset I believe shoudl allow you to use ACC which should get at least 3.0GHz if not upwards of 3.2Ghz out of the 9950...

To check for stability I have found Prime95 to be invaluable is showing weak cores... The system may be stable in windows, but if it won't handle 24hours of Prime95 torture testing the Small FFTs, then it can fault at any point... My setup 'seemed' stable at 3.1GHz, but once I started in with the Prime95 runs it was obvious it wasn't...

Dennis what would be good ram to run with this setup. I've heard sometimes ram can be picky with certain mobos? Is this an old wifes tale?

I'm gonna keep my eye out hoping to find a 260GTX (216) or better on the shell shocker or daily deals.

Wow. My Geforce 6200OC seems so dated.

I went with a Patriot 1066 4gb kit (2x2gb) for dual-channel. Runs at the advertised timings (5-5-5-15) at 1066 so I have zero complaints... It was also pretty damn cheap and included a rebate...

It was honestly a toss-up of either G.Skill, Patriot, OCZ or A-Data. All of those 4 have excellent feedback from others, and I myself have used G.Skill, Patriot and A-Data ram in all of my systems, all without issue and in some cases with them running amazing overclocks (I have A-Data DDR2-800 2x2gb in my sons SLI rig running at 5-5-5-18 at 1000MHz and with a 5400+ x2 it runs faster than my Patriot 1066 does with my Phenom due to other timings I just can't tweak on my 780a chipset motherboard)...

With as cheap as memory has gotten, go with a well known brand and specs that match your setup.
