Last Saturday afternoon, Hy G & I94-Racine Co.
Roads were kinda nice and the ditching looked fresh, looked stuck and not parked.

If it was a Subaru he could have backed out! I drive my Subi like a dumb#$s all the time and it is totally fun. Half the fun of last night's get together was driving through unplowed city streets!

So, is that the beauty of Mitsu's All Wheel Drive?

that would be the beauty of high performance summer tires probably still equipped on an Evo.

FIXED...!!! :thumbsup

I am amazed at the tires that some people drive around on, and in the snow on top of it.....:alcoholic

I have seen quite a few of those around, drivers all acting like idiots. Doesn't surprise me at all to see one stuck like that.

I would think that EVO would have been able to continue on its way, unless there was another problem.

Even brand new high performance summer tires on an Evo is dangerous in a little bit of snow.

Car Guy
01-19-2009, 11:22 AM
I wouldn't run anything but true snow tires on an EVO if I was to drive one in the winter because of the tire size/width. Any 'all season' (3 season if you ask me  ) tire you get in the size needed will still be closer to a 'performance' tire opposed to one that will work well in the snow.....

It's the price you pay to play, if you want to stay out of the ditch that is.....:rolf

I really think if people want to stay out of ditches, the real trick is......stop driving like an idiot.

Most of the people on this board drive like hooligans no matter the weather but it's doubtful you will see any of us in the ditch. We call it car control. Don't you have cookies to bake or something?:goof

Mirros usually fold both ways if they didn't whne you backed out of the garage and clipped the door it wouldn't fold and would break they work both ways always fun to fold your buddies mirrors in and watch em get mad. I drive like a hooligan in the snow its my drift fun can't do it in the summer car it would cost too much

Yeah, I have seen your idea of "car control" splattered all over the roads this year.......usually in ditches, or on their roofs, or with their whole sides caved in, surrounded by EMT's, police, and possibly the fire dept. Enjoying a drive is fine, if you like winter driving, that's fine too, but driving recklessly just to prove you're "bad ass" is not a good choice. Oh.....and I don't bake cookies, btw. I'm sure you'd be more the little cookie-baker-type than me. :thumbsup

I don't.......but if someone asks nice, I can at least attempt to!! See, my "domestic skills" are not exactly what you'd call......competent. I made brownies ( from scratch) years ago, and they were so disgusting. I hate cooking/baking with a total passion, I'd rather change the oil in all 4 cars here than cook a meal. But.....I also like to try to be nice, so if someone wants damn cookies, I try.....they might be like hockey-pucks.....but hell, I tried!!

Oh, I don't count a legitimate accident as "idiot driving." Sometimes, yeah...it does JUST happen, the tires lose traction, and then there ya go. I'm talking about the ones that seem to think they are immune to ever having an accident......that think they are just SO damn good NOTHING can ever go wrong for them. That kind of over confidence really irks me.

01-20-2009, 07:16 PM
How do you lose traction if you aren't driving like a tool? If its icy, you shouldn't have been going that fast to lose it on the ice. Right?

michelle
01-20-2009, 07:41 PM
I'm not going to sit here and defend my driving. If you would like to believe I drive like a "tool" in my Taurus, then so be it. :thumbsup

Car Guy
01-20-2009, 07:52 PM
There is a BIG difference between driving like a 'tool' and driving too fast for conditions.....

Voodoo Chick
01-20-2009, 08:10 PM
My Camaro lost traction on a patch of black ice, and I wasn't even pressing her gas pedal. We were doing around 10 mph, and all of a sudden, she was just sort of floating across the road. SCARY shit. Nothing happened, I was able to get her to safely stop, but had there been a ditch in her way......yeah. Sometimes they do just lose it, but some people just drive like they're on a clear, bright, dry summer day......that is just idiotic.

SHO-OFF (shhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/omacr.gif off)
v.
1. To display or behave in an ostentatious or conspicuous way.
2. To drive like a tool and end up in a ditch, specifically in a Ford Taurus.

I'm just pulling your chain. I thought it was funny and I hope you aren't upset. I just meant that you usually go in the ditch when you are Showing Off, but since you had a Taurus, I went with the SHO-OFF. I knew it wasn't your SHO, you'd be nuts to go out in that during Winter.
