Just figured I'd post this here. Did this for a guy from Michigan off a chitown racing just like his real car. He doesn't plan to race it just put it on the shelf. The car turned out good he said it was better than he expected. Only mess up was the hood decal wouldn't go 100% flat theres a couple small creases. Also I didn't do the rear bumper inside black people at racing told me not to chance it and left the chute off to keep the street car look. Also he is changing his wheels to the ones on the slot car for summer. Let me know what you think.
The real car!

I think the little version is just adorable! I have intended for a while to make a little model version of my Z/28, but I never got around to it.

you do know there is a liquid that you can get that helps lay decals FLAT right??????

but what do i know...i never built a model car before...and you can get Bare Metal Foil for the window moldings, and if the car happens to have a vinyl roof you can do that to the model as well...That would add the real look to your toy cars as well, and make them look better...and maybe with these pointers you could get more money for them.......but i don't know anything...:goof

As a matter of fact I do the worst $5 I've spent! Sh!t didn't work! Water works better for me.. I don't do bare metal yet and my dad has a 67 Gto limo with a vinyl roof on it..

5.00...........damm that shit went up in price,,,you must not be using it right...cause it causes the decal to soften up more, then with water and allowing it to conform with the part....so i have been told by lordairgtar...he is the model GOD.....HE KNOWS ALL...

and try the bare metal foil..greg says it's great...and he don't lie....

Yeah I used it as the directions said and also took advice from another guy and it didn't work.. Kinda sucks because that's the only flaw on the car is the hood decal.. Oh well! Maybe I will have to try bare metal soon..

oh man, make me a gto
I'm sure I might be able too.. Pm me pics and we'll talk..

Where are the pictures taken at ? Luck Bobs or your own track. I always wanted to get into this but fail to make the steps to do it. I lack the Time to do it, not the $ but time.

see that's where you went wrong,...your went by the directions.....you use the stuff in the frosted plastic bottle with blue writting....????

be careful with the bare metal...i hear it's a bit ch to work with...make sure the area is cleaned off good and you use a NEW #11 BLADE...that's what i hear anyways...

another tip...to take the decal edge off...you can see it in the pics...use wax...takes it right off...so i've heard on that tip as well...

good luck

I used Walthers Solvaset.. Yeah I heard bare metal is time consuming (hence why I haven't tried it yet) And I don't really wax cars and if I do it's once or twice a year because they get glue on them or someone puts their prints in it right after you finish. (glue used for traction at the line and heavier glue to help stop them at the end) The Nova in the pictures isn't waxed because it was 3 days after finished I will wax it before I ship it..
