i just sold a cell phone via buy it now feature and upon transferring the fund from my paypal to my bank account it said i wasnt able to do it. I got a message saying high risk and that i have to wait for the buyer to leave positive feedback to receive the funds?? why would i ship the item out without getting the funds? what if the guy doesnt leave feedback? anyone else have this happen to them??

happened to me when I sold a lens of mine.
Totally sucks. You have to wait it out either the 21 days until funds are released or until the buyer gives you positive feedback.

Totally surprised me too. It actually leaves you vulnerable to the buyer saying you never sent the item and getting his money back and you are out money and product too.

I wouldn't ship jack till I had my money...

Everything worked out fine for me though, but the hold thing made me really nervous to ship such a high dollar item without money actually in my account.

ok yea paypal sucks. that just doesnt seem right to wait 21 days.

I feel the same way. It's realistically very risky to do things this way now with ebay/paypal.

the guy or you must not have a premier account. if you're premier, and so is the other party, the money will go through. it's like getting a check held, it sucks. you are in NO way obligated to ship the item until the money is sent through, it's listed in ebay and paypal's "bylaws" if you will. if he doesn't understand that, tough. he won't be able to give negative feedback or anything against you. if he files a complaint, it'll get waived. if he has a problem, tell him to get his financial account fixed, they get "red flagged" because there was trouble with getting the funds from paypal. it's his fault, you did nothing wrong.

Someone just emailed me asking me if I'd ship something to an APO.

I said sure... as soon as the funds clear my bank. I'm premier but if he's not, he isn't getting shit until I have my money.

I have always had good luck, but I wont ever ship something without a cleared payment.

Of the 600 or so items I've sold on ebay the only ones I had trouble with were low dollar b.s. electronics i.e. a cell phone and a nintendo ds. I never have issues selling tools or car parts.

I had my credit car info stolen through Paypal. I was on a business trip and got a call that my credit card was shut off due to unexplained spending. I looked and someone bought a ton of Itunes on it. So I'm in a hotel with no way to pay since they shut the card down and I was in AR.
It all worked out, but eBay is dead to me as well as Paypal.

i just bought something off ebay. i won the bid on a sunday, paid thru paypal on the same sunday, and he sent the item out the next day(monday). i know i had to leave feedback and i was very happy so far but i was gonna wait to leave the feedback until after i got the product, just to make sure it was what he told me it was. but everything was good and he got good feedback. i didnt realize he didnt get the money til i left good feedback.

I've got a 90 rating and have a business premier account with paypal. It's a high risk item so they do that bullshit hold. Another way to get your money sooner is if you enter the tracking number into paypal. After being delivered for 3 days they will release it too.
