I'll be going probably the second weekend i was thinking of getting a hotel and staying overnight.

take the train down. We do that every year. the first friday of the show hop on the train at 6:30-7 gallon of bloody's and a 12 pack and enjoy the ride, get breakfast, then taxi to the show.

Went last year, not this year I am going on Feb 7th to the International Motorcycle show one of the Powersports Dealers up here got a bus to go to it. So if anyone is getting on a bus at State Fair park for this show let me know.

Would you guys recommend driving down there or taking the train? I'm visiting a friend in Chi-town but I don't know crap about their parking and roads and traffic (been there last year and know it blows).

Ford has a great display (although I may be a bit bias), but everything is really nice so if you can go - go! Definitely check out the Lexus display and you'll see two cars with this beautiful orange paint. The lighting didn't give it justice though.

Also went through the Dodge and Jeep track and that was a lot of fun. Went through it twice to "compare" the 4-door Wrangler with the Off-Road version Ram.

Can't compare it with last years as I wasn't at the Chicago show, but it's a small course where they go over a few obstacles to show ground clearance, stability, etc. Then you put the right side tires on this other obstacle and feel like you are going to flip over. You also go up the big 35* hill and feel like you will flip backwards and the same when you go down at 35* as well. Does that sound familiar?

It was nice on the Media Preview day - the place was dead at 3:00 when we came back after the tour at the assembly plant. Walked right up to any display (tried the Raptor, Fusion Hybrid, etc.) without waiting. Also nice to take pictures without a bunch of random people in them.

We get a couple SUV's together and drive.

Last year was great. We went to Smoque for lunch first, then the show, and then Stocks and Blondes downtown Chicago for dinner. We're doing the same thing this year because I'm the one that organizes everything all the damn time. :thumbsup

Yeah driving in Chicago will make anyone go crazy, but it wasn't as bad as I remembered it being. Parking sucks (I spent way too much money on that alone).

I think the Stingray concept was a home run, seriously I love that thing! I know it's only a concept, but it's frickin' amazing. I haven't met anyone who doesn't like it. My favorite is probably the rear brake lights. I hope they use at least SOMETHING from this concept in future vettes.
