Bear Grylls is awesome. Survivor man is so ungodly boring and doesn't really give any good information about his surroundings like Bear does. He also just seems to camp around and not do anything. Bear gets friggin' into it!

Camera crew or not - Grylls is one certifiable former Special Forces bad-ass who actually puts himself in an extreme situation to show people how they can get out of it.

The reason survivor man isnt as entertaining is because he is actually in a survival situation unlike man vs. wild where he is just acting. Both are very informative. I find survivor man a lot more interesting tho. As far as Les not moving around as much is because in a real situation you should stay put.

you're def. wrong in saying man v. wild is more harsh.....if you read the disclaimer at the beginning of the new ones, it says that he has a support crew with him at all times (AKA the camera crew). on survivor man the guy was by himself on every show except for 2. one of them he was in alaska or someplace in the artic and had a dog sled team with him. and the other one he was lost with another guy on a "hunting" trip. otherwise he was always by himself. If you want proof watch the show closly and you'll see the cameras that he has set up on tripods

He doesnt do that kind of stuff because he is in a real survival situation, If he jumped into a frozen lake and something went wrong there would be no one there to help him. If he was alone on man vs wild I can promise you he woudlnt do any of that crazy stuff. Les does have a radio to call someone in an emergency but it wont do any good if youre in a frozen lake or fell off a cliff.

yea b/c he can make things interesting......he can take more risks b/c he knows that there is someone there to help him. hell les may have a radio but if he cuts himself really bad, by the time someone gets to him he may be dead....not to mention les is usually out with something, like the episode where he has the broken down dirt bike in the desert. and he then shows you have to use parts of the bike to survive. i don't see bear doing that

Both shows are awesome in their own respects. Both guys are hardcore motherfuckers but Les knows way more about realistic survival and I give him props for doing it totally by himself. I don't care if bear's shit is somewhat fake, its still an awesome/interesting show.
