I'm sure the business will go on, whether it's run by a family member or someone Jack had appointed to take over. I'm sure he had it all planned out due to his age.

I saw him a little while ago at the Porticello in Oconomowoc on Silver Lake. He looked pretty good--and you could tell he was a high rollah!

He and his wife looked like they were very classy people.

Sorry to hear that...............

I guess he was selling 'Yotas since 1967. That's about the time they came back to the US to sell cars. They tried selling them once in the late 50s, but those cars literally fell apart being unloaded from the boat. Toyota went back and didn't return until they got it right. You know the rest of the story.

At this point there has been nothing said yet about who will take things over. Alot of people throughout the dealerships are very sad. I wish i would have met the guy. From all the stories ive heard he seems like a very classic guy.

My condolences to his family. I worked at Safro Toyota awhile ago and Jack was a nice guy to work for. I still by my cars from his dealerships too. I know at the Toyota dealership Jim Tessmer was important and i think he is vp of the Safro company. I bet he takes over. His son John i dont think was ever to into the dealership end, just the cars and racing end of it.

Jim Tessmer is a minority owner of the company, depends i guess what the majority says. It will be interesting to see what happens
