Just so you know, you can pick up a BRAND NEW extended cab 2500 Dmax 4x4 right now for abou 30K. GM is sucking **** for beer money.

Either way, nice truck. Welcome to Dieselville and duramax fuel filter hell. :stare

On the LMM trucks its a pain in the ass to get at, you have to pull the damn fender liner out to change it.

Anakonda69

yeah i don't want a lmm either lb7 or lly.....lbz is kinda iffy.

Took me 15-20 mins start to finish. While I agree that it's a PITA, it's not the worst thing in the world.

yea hopefully you will get it only big issue i have heard so far is make sure the harness to #7 and #2 injectors are ok they like to break. fuel filters arent bad kinda pricey but it is a deisel. good luck with your new purchase!

Well the filter is in the same place on all duramax engines so that story dont change regardless of LMM, LBZ, LLY. The filters cost $47.50 from GM, that is list price. Even at my cost I pay $27.00 for them. Oh, and if you dont change that bitch every 10-15K miles your truck will run like ass. Dogs down, shifts funny.... The fuel fiters on them are very tempermental.

As far as the engines go though, the LMM's are the most responsive and most powerful. Followed by the LBZ. If I were you, id be looking for a LBZ truck. Well actually, with the way prices are right now, id be looking at a brand new LMM truck! I paid employee price for mine with 0% interest and the deals im seeing on them right now make me sick... About 4K less then I paid seems to be what there getting right now because of the employee pricing + rebates + cant sell trucks to save our lives.

There is a company that is going to be making a access cover that goes in your fender liner very soon. There are already prototypes out there, slick setup.

If this is the truck id tell em you want it for 15K or less. Considering you can buy a brand new one right now for 30K with most likely a better interest rate and a warranty.

Id recommend full fluids change on it when you get it though, odds are it wasnt done because the guy traded it at the time most that stuff is due. Differentials, t-case, transmission, engine oil, fuel filter.

If you decide to go Amsoil let me know, ill get you a great deal on it.

Like I said, with the prices of new trucks, 15K is about all its worth, On a good day... I mean its got 100K on it and its 5 years old....

It does look very clean though, should serve you well for a long time if you take care of it.

Congrats! I'd have negotiated a new fuel filter installed into the deal.

That or teach yourself pronto. If you don't know how long that one's been on there, you don't want to take too many chances with Ol' Man Winter upon us.

Amsoil Premium Diesel 15-40 FTW!!!!!

Or Mobil Delvac 1 Synthetic.

Rotella Dino Oil works for me. I net mid 20's for mpg on the highway so I'll stick with the old crappy technology. Not much of a fan of synthetic motor oil period. I don't like how it finds its way out of engines so easily.

hmmmm

Ill still stick with Amsoil.... I bought my truck last winter and when it had the factory fill dino in it it was really loud. When i switched to amsoil it got alot quiter... I think the synthetic is better all around but defnitly in the winter as it doesnt get really thick with cold temps.

Anakonda69
