So you just want to do a quick sight in before going
hunting New Years day....OMG. Both Badger and Shooters
work out to be $60, have to buy there "frangable" bullets
that are made from Unobtainium at $45 a box! Regardless
the shop your looking at $55-60 to go 30min of plinking!

Milwaukee County must want these guys to go away with
their powder grade bullets or the sudden raise of fees for
simple range time is the dealers looking for more money.

Badger surprises me at times with reasonable gun prices,
Shooters shop alrams me at times with there $300 over
MSRP even if your standing there with cash in hand!

Why didnt you go to McMillers? Would have been like $12....

When did that start? I hope Shooters Sport Center in Racine doesn't go that way. But yeah Mcmillers all day for $14 FTW, except it might be chilly today:goof

I do to, but its nice to be on a "safe" range where you dont have to worry about bullet travel or "accidents" because its monitored very well.

yeah agreed,i hate needing a flak jacket at ranges

:rolf I wear my vest when I occasionally hunt on public land. I havent been going up north for the early seasons so I hunt with a few friends on public junk in the kettle moraine area. First off, I dont like not being up in a tree, second, its damn right scary on public land with all the fools out there.

Reverend Cooper
12-30-2008, 07:13 PM
yeah its nice,my land is adjacent to my brothers and parents if anyone else is there they should worry about me shoting them for trespassing

Breecher_7
12-30-2008, 07:15 PM
We have about 450 acres in Pepin, 10 mins from the minnesota border. That land is adjacent to about 2000 acres of public land. But the public land can only be accessed through farmers fields or climbing down some bluffs, needless to say, ive never seen anyone there but the farmers.

Its a good thing,I hate people in general,if i have a gun in my hand out in the woods the last thing i wanna do is run into idiots

Off work at 3:30, want to go squirell hunting with the
new toy Thurs. I actualy have a free pass for McMillers
from Gander with gun purrchase...no time before dark.

My buddy owns Western Eagle Auto Salvage, if I drove
that far I'd just practice on headlights after hours!

I'm gonna try and get a Falls gun club friend to go wen
night...he's ignoring my message I'm sure knowing I
got another new gun ;)

I think Bob is a member there, want me to blow up his phone for ya? :rolf

I looked at getting a membership there before, went to there "meeting". I personally wouldnt give those fools $1. I think there facility sucks and there rules, well, they can keep them. The people I met there were a bunch of stuck up know nothing idiots. THey want you to put in voluteer hours and all sorts of stupid shit and if you dont do it you get charged a penalty. Id rather pay and leave, like McMillers. I dont need anymore nonsense in my life. Not to mention I have access to the LEO/Tactical range at mcmillers.

Been there its not in a basement but off the show room and it is really decent. It was awhile ago that I shot there but it is one of the newer up to date ranges I have been too. Normally I just shoot at work in the range in the basement. Perks of work!!:banana1:

4I NOTCH and I went to Badger a coupe weeks ago . I was shocked to see how much the range fee was there ! The range at Badger is junky and has not seen any improvements in all the years I have gone there !

I would not bitch about the range fees going up if they would at least put somma the money into improving the range over the years....

Even shootin our .22's that are cheap on ammo is now pretty expensive with the range fees being so high....We will not go back to Badger to shoot....

Most reasonable indoor range I've found:Shooters Sports Center off of 6 Mile and 32 in Racine.

Last time I was at Shooters Shop on 84th St. (October) it was "only" $85.00...how reasonable...

I always liked that place. Me and my wife used to shoot on the PPC league there years ago. A little far to drive from Stallis now, but if Shooter's on 84th is going ridiculous on price then it'd be worth it.

What about Fletcher in Waukesha?

HRSEPLA
01-05-2009, 02:41 PM
Me and some guys from work went to Fletcher's today, forgot they were closed on Mondays, but they were getting new Carpet installed..
Then went to The Shooter's Shop and they actually had the heat on, so it was way better than before, fyi.:thumbsup

Ha! Funny you said that, exactly the picture I make when
I think of the place myself.

Several weeks ago Im standing there with $1600 in my
pocket...waiting...standing and looking at the R-15 I've
been wanting. They were pretty buisy talking about a what
sounded like a lean misfire on a customers truck....I left
without adding to the diagnosis (fuel pressure) and bought
the gun 2 weeks later at Gander.

I recongize some of the same guys there from years back.
Some old dude tried to tell me my Smith & Wesson Texas
State patrol 26" heavy barrel 223 was a common gun, just
then I rolled it over to expose the "1/17 built for TSP" on
the backside....guy must have been in all the right spots
in Texas to have seen all 17 guns they had custom made!
