Im doing the same to my Ex GF. just file the papers, its worth the $75 dollars to get them served by a sheriff...... you can settle out of court and cancle the court date, you will still be out the $75 but much cheaper then a official letter from a lawyer.

before you pay anything send a couple certified letters telling them they have X amount of time to pay up.
