Here is the deal I want to purchase a 400 - 500 cc snowmobile and make ramps so I can load it into my Grand Voyager. All the seats are out and actually has a shit load of room.

I don't expect the hatch to close 100% but it should go down 1/2 way. Reason I don't want a trailer is that I have nowhere to store it. Let alone store a snow mobile.

The reason I'll pick a 400 - 500 cc is because they generally look lighter and a tad shorter in the length. I'm a total newbie to snowmobiles so if anyone wants to set me straight or what direction to go let me know :thumbsup

I'm not about speed speed speed, I'm not going to do backflips I just want to use it on trail ridding and going ice fishing :thumbsup

Or maybe I'm a complete moron and shouldn't even waste my time doing this and just get real :D maybe I don't realize how heavy the smaller cc snowmobiles are.

Here are a few that I randomly picked.

Let me know :alcoholic

Or does anyone around the Milwaukee area rent small lots to store a trailer w/ sled on it ?

Sounds doable you just have to wrestle the sled out, its not that hard for a young buck.

Yeah it is. But its also probably th heaviest one. I'd look for some 440 fan-cooled Cat Z440 if you're going to be humping it in and out of a minivan.

PS You need about 48" of width to the ousides of the skis. Just in case you want to measure it. I think it will be close to being too wide and most definitely way too tall.

xlt special is a great sled. Probably one of the most solid and dependable sleds made. We had three of them since the mid 90's and no problems with them at all.

the xlt will be a PITA to wrestle out.

We used to but a Blaster atv in the back of an Astro van... but IDK about the shape of the Voyager/Caravan. I don't think the roof is tall enough. Go measure your van, then when you go to look at a sled measure the sled. And keep in mind the angle that it would be going in at..

Just mount a winch to the floor between the front seats.. pull it in backwards.. then you can just go flying out the back when you get where you need to be... :rolf

Don't try. Yes, i'm sure it'll fit, but if you cant get a good setup, don't try. Your not going to want to try to fit it in when its covered in snow and cold outside.

When you have it in there the road slush will make its way into the cab/ and forget the heater. Theres a couple of guys that Ice ride on Long Lake that wouldnt do it again. You will need long rams to get it in also. Even though my 99 500 was supposedly light, It was a ballbuster to get into a truck. Make sure it has reverse if you do or you will fug up your back.

Or you can mexican dump it and floor it in reverse get some speed lock up the brakes that works also.

The thread title sounds like a euphemism for anal sex.

Out of preference, I'd go w/ the Polaris in that group. Personally I'm a fan of Arctic cats, and w/ those don't even bother w/ anything less than a 580. The 440's have decent enough "go" but you'll be bumming when you hit a lake and all your buddies disappear. -- Ahead of you. Top speed of a 440 CC is maybe 80-85. I remember one winter we had a big group, I was 13 mind you, so I wasn't heavy yet, and we were stuck w/ a 340cc Arctic Cat Jag, and a Yamaha in the 300cc range, them wimps couldn't do anymore than 65. It was LAME. Sometimes you need some power. now a thundercat, I'd of killed myself in short order, those things could do some amazing "track" stands from a dig, too much power. You could prolly easily do that w/ a sled (fit in a large van) but you might as well just ask around for someone that has a sled trailer.

I have seen a sled fit in a Toyota previa with the seats out and back hatch closed. I will warn you that it will tare up the carpet if studded and will reak of two stroke gasoline. He loaded it up by backing into a snow bank and driving it into the van, no ramps needed lol.

Open tailgate note a good idea on a minivan. Exhaust gases will get into the cabin and that's not good.
