Z06 ?'s

My boss has a 02 Z06, and wants to put on a low boost super charger, possible vortech s-trim.

The ?'s are what are the best kits for the Z06 for around 8 psi, and can you still use the stock hood?

Any info will help, I don't know much about GM performance.:D

Now I know this sounds crazy. But that motor really is not built for boost. Infact the roots/twinscrew style blowers have not shown great results for us. To be honest its easy, more dependable, and in the long run cheaper to just put in a motor.

If you do an 8psi kit, the PCM manually adds the fuel and can not read the positive pressure (boost). So technically on different days it will run richer or leaner to an extent. The stock short block will not last forever, once it goes you'll want to do a low compression LS1 and up the boost. If you up the boost then you need to upgrade the fuel system and most likely run an aftermarket DFI system. After you get a good HP # you will have other drivetrain things that could pop up and possible belt problems.

.....putting in a 427 that puts 530 to the rear wheels is the cheaper and easiest option if you look at the big picture that way.
