talked to a guy who claims he uses 111 octane in his stock Vmax snowmobile. Any benefit or harm to doing this?

if he jacks the timing up alot along with super lean jetting it will help in short runs.

Don't see the point in a stock sled much less a vmax - never known to make huge power

A lot of posers put it in there stock sled so when they ride by people mite think its built.
Its like a V6 Stang with dual exhaust, completley useless but makes them think their cool when around there other gay buddies.

edit: In a stock sled, no. In a PERFORMANCE sled with high compression, yes.

We had a 1000cc that ran I think 13:1 compression (if I remember right). We could only run race gas in it. Yeah real fun having to carry extra race gas on the trails.... NOT
That thing was a bitch to start too

Nothing but 110 in this. It isn't too bad though, only go through 10 gallons or so a year

I always find it commical when people run high octane fuel when theres no need to. infact, a low compression engine will run worse on high octane fuel then the reccomended fuel. Ive got a cheater head on my sled and even they say 92 octane os ok. sooo explain to me why a stock head/ stock pistion/ stock igntion timing/ stock jetted vmax would need 110???? no reason at all!
