This weekend a steam train is in Plymouth with Santa on it. The train arrived this afternoon and it is here until Sunday. I went tonight and took some pics of it because I figure you don't see something this cool very often and I also wanted to get some practice at night shooting. I was suprised by all the photographers that were there. Looking at some of there equipment most looked to be professionals so I felt I little out of place. This is some of what I shot. Let me know what you think!!:thumbsup

They did this last year too. Last week it was in Edgerton and this week in Plymouth. It leaves Plymouth on Sunday morning and heads to Elkheart Lake. At aprox 8:00 am it will do a photo run through Elkheart Lake and continue south to Milwaukee at about 10mph. From the north Milwaukee yards they will head northwest to Hartford, where the Soo 1003 engine is kept, at the auto museum. The Sargento box car is there because they are a sponsor. Replica HO Sargento cars can be ordered at Plymouth on Saturday.

I am getting my scanner and video equipment ready for the chase tomorrow.:headbang

Those are some very cool pictures I love the steam and the dark backround and of course the magnificent and beautiful 95 year old ALCO 2-8-2 Mikado type steam locomotive.

Hoards of railfans and normal folks alike to see the loved Soo line 1003 pulling santa's train ? Ya don't say. :D

Great shots! The longer exposure to get the steam whispy is nice.
