I've seen 3 today all with IFS that looked like the plow was gonna murder the front suspension. I'm talking the tires had INSANE camber. I don't understand some people. I'm sure when you're plowing it's not so much an issue. :wooo

Am I the only one that finds this disturbing? :goof

I saw a 9'2" V on the front of a Toyota today, I was laughing my balls off.

my truck actually rides better with the plow on.

That or a load of wood in the back.... rides like a caddy then

Same here, I dont have a plow but when I have 500+lbs in the bed the truck rides a hell of alot nicer. Damn HD suspension...... :rolf

For a while western actualy put a little wheel on the bottom of the plow when they installed them on Fords because legaly the plow over loaded the front axle. that was 5 years ago or so, haven't seen any in a while.

I agree 100%. I have 800lbs of block in my bed and it rides awesome. I was going to get the plow prep torsion bars for the front of my truck to handle the extra weight. I am pretty sure they are just the 3500 bars that they put in the front of the 2500

Yeah there was a thread on letstalksnow.com about those. The just switch you over to the heavier T-bars. If your worried about it you can just crank your stockers up a tad.

Also on LTS someone posted a chart that helps you determin the optimum weight to add to the bed of your truck based on your truck and the plow. If I can find it I will repost it in here.

We cranked our torsion bars in spring to level the truck out. And now with the plow on a 9'2" boss V, we added 1400 pounds behind the axle, Plows awesome and when the plow is lifted it still sits level.:thumbsup

Spent a few years installing Western plows, 1/2 the Ford and Chevy trucks out there are not even suppose to have the plows people want on them. Extended cab Chevy's no matter HD (hd means nothing, just a logo) accept only lightweight rated plows and newer fords with the strut style 1/2 ton spring are required to install a helper that requires the 700000psi spring be compressed and removed with a very special strut compressor (tiny OD spring).

Western Plow up on 76th street has some great failure parts including pics of wasted late model frames.
