Just wondering what kind you use?

I have been trying to talk paps into getting one but its not going so well. Menards has a nice one that mounts on the wall and stays there forever. You can have it directly hooked up to your natuarl gas. Sounds safer than the propane/kerosean.

actually a big kerosene heater isn't bad...it can be moved around if need to be.....torpedo heaters are good......just helps to be able to move the heat from one place to another unless you just hook up a furnace

I've got a 60,000 BTU hanging LP furnance in my 27x45 shop, its very well insulated, has no problem keeping up.

Kerosene is ok if you used good kerosene and crack the windows/door open alittle. If you use #2 you'll smoke youself out of the shop....

If your interested I've got a 150,000 BTU Kerosene Torpedo Heater with thermostat I'd be willing to sell, used it in my garage before I built my shop....Keith

I have a 40,000 BTU kerosene heater and it wont heat the garage more than 45-50 deg above outside in my 2 car detached garage without insulation and a second level (big garage).

GRNDNL- 150,000 w/ thermostat? How about a dollar price. Do torpedo heaters run off of propane or kerosene?

I am in the market for a bigger heater and if I buy it, I'll sell my current kerosene heater. It was given to me for free because it needed a tune up. 30$ later, it ran. So I will want 30$ for it.

!!!! -Oh yeah buy the clear kerosene at Fleet Farm (or farm and fleet, whichever)) in Menominee Falls. It runs about $6 for a 2.5 gallon bottle, smells the least and doesn't smoke.
