im new to the world of aftermarket car alarms, i just picked up a 2005 Saturn Vue Redline and it came with a directed electronics Hornet alarm. My wife drives it to work on crappy days because of the AWD, well we got punished with snow last night as we all know. she works 3rd shift and apparently it was going off like crazy last night. she had people calling the police department saying an alarm was going off, lucky for her she works for the PD so she would just drive over and shut it off. but long story short, would the 12" snow effect the alarm? pressure sensativity problems? anyone know alarms?

Was the snow piled up on the car? If so, it could in theory trigger pressure-sensitivity. If there was not that much snow on it, I would suggest having it looked at by a dealer, or technician, they shouldn't just go off like that for no reason.

or is the battery state of health low alot of alarms work off voltage draw from the battery.

Yeah, I never thought of that, but that's true......the alarm on my Olds went ballistic a few years back because her battery was f***ed up.

The snow won't set off a pressure sensor. But... I have had my DEI alarms go off in very cold weather.

Take it in and have it reprogrammed by a DEI dealer. Sometimes the brain's go dead - but that's warrantied by DEI.
