Ok guys, I've been working on this car for a long time and figured i'd post some pics finally. I sold the car that was "finished" long ago, and wanted one again in the worst way. Well I came across this 85 t top camaro z28 lb9 auto, and just had to have it. I hated the color(like black but not gold), but there was no rust on it, it was clean. Needed a ton of bodywork though but it was all there. Anyways heres what I started with:

Well I got it home(it actually drove home, which is something rare for me.) and immediately started disassembly. I never really got to drive it for fun.

I coated the floor pans with por15, patched the rear where the impact absorber is mounted, and started the bodywork with the help of my friend who's family owns a bodyshop. We shaved the door handles, shaved the antenna hole, added a hawks 5" spoiler and SS hood, and did all the bodywork it needed.

It's obviously not completely together, but it looks like a car again now. I've been working on it slowly for over a year and a half. Next is drivetrain, then suspension/brakes. The rims are going, just on there until i decide what i want. Any comments or opinions?

looks pretty good, i can appreciate the amount of time and effort you have into building a car this far.
good job, only thing i can say i don't like is the hood. Just my opinion but i don't think it flows too well with that generation. I would have gone with more of a cowl hood. But it should look good when it's done.
what are you thinking for wheels?

The blue on the car is really a good choice for it:thumbsup

I've had a 3" cowl on my last car and I liked it but I wanted something different for this one. It is getting lowered and with some 17"-18" wheels I think the hood will work better for the car. I'm not sure about what kind of wheel yet though. I was thinking about some iroc replicas in chrome, or american racing ttIIs. Not sure though. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Looking great. Nice to see another 3rdgen coming together. Love the color choice. I'd have gone with the 91-92 spoiler. I do like the hood. I think on cars that are well done, like yours is down the path of, it works.
I gotta say looking at your pics brought back alot of memories of going thru many of the same things. Although the body on yours was a lot cleaner then mine was. When we pulled the gfx off all that was behind them was rust and holes.
Great job.

Karps- thanks for the compliments. I've been a really big fan of your car for a long time now and hope mine will someday be in that category.
Silver350- the interior will be black/charcoal. I'm planning on wrapping the plastics with black vinyl, black/charcoal door panels, black carpet, and charcoal leather seats i bought from crawlin from the 96 trans am

Umm thanks. Hopefully you'll use yours alot more then I use mine and actually get some enjoyment from it :rolf
On the wrapping the panels - was it you who I told about Jax doing them? If not, I highly recommend them. I gave it a shot myself and it's alot tougher then it looks. Too many curves, and complex curves.

Yeah it was me who asked. I will be either going to them or a friend of my family who does that kind of work as well out of his basement. It seems to be well worth the money though.

Nice job, looks pretty good.
Do you have the stock black hood? Looks like its an Iroc hood and in decent shape?

It's gorgeous. My opinion might be a little biased, though, seeing as I am addicted to Camaros.

Looks good....I actually really like that hood on modified 3rd gens, they make one for the Montes that I have been considering getting too. You said its an LB9 car, was the TPI swapped out? Maybe an L69 (or LG4?).
