Anyone here know how to sew? My jacket zipper has seperated at the bottom 15 or so inches, and they want almost 40 bucks to fix it at seems-b-fitting. I only paid 70 for the jacket, but I hate to toss it and buy a new one since its in great shape.

There is a sewing place on 76th and oklahoma in the strip mall by Red Carpet Lanes. They replaced my motorcycle jacket zipper and fixed a couple holes for $25 bucks. But of course it is a dickies jacket you can probably by a new one for that price at farm and fleet

I only paint with one finger, my middle finger. You have my number, I'd gladly come and hang out in the cave.

This isn't a $25 dollar jacket Scott. If it was, I would have bought a new one.

Fixed all my zippers

That looks like its actual parts of the zipper, I'm not missing any parts. The zipper and the strip its attached to has pulled away from the jacket, it just needs to be sewn back in.

Ah. Well if the zipper ever stops zipping or the zipper pulls apart when zipped, those work great.

Fixing zippers is a pain in the a** most of the time, at least in my experiences..........

Are the metal zipper teeth pulling off the zippers fabric tape or is the zippers fabric tape pulling away from the canvas material of the coat ?

I could sew a the zipper tape back onto the coat pretty easily I would think, depends on the thickness at the edge, and I'm sure its pretty thick dense stuff there. In the 1900's here and have a sewing "machine".
I read you are in Racine "here and there".

I'm in racine every sunday night / monday morning. The zupper tape is pulling away from the jacket, zipper is still firmly attached to the zipper tape form what I can tell.

Ok well its probably like a 5 or 10 minute job, I only have 2 or 3 colors of thread, black blue and white I think and it probably wont look factory as I am a rank amateur sewing but I can say it sure shouldnt ever tear away again.
