i was thinking of getting one of these because they seem useful, but i don't want to spend the money if they aren't as good as they are cracrked up to be. Good features, bad features?

Forest uses them to dyno all his cars. It's very accurate and an excellent tuning tool.

Do you have a long flat road that you can use it on? Cause I find they ain't as easy to find as you think. You have to stop, setup the Gtech, make sure it's level etc...

Quarter mile time wise it's fairly accurate, the MPH is off cause it's measured differently.

We've found the MPH to be almost dead on and the ET to be a tenth off, tested at the same time on a dragstrip being compared to the timeslip.

I have one. I was a beta tester for Tesla Electronics. Mine's been remarkably accurate at GLD, sometimes within a few thousandths.
It is useful for tuning because it's fairly consistant. The zero-60 is nice and so is the reaction time and 60 foot time... You can set the rollout and make the device read pretty close to what you'll see on a timeslip.

The datalog function is cool too... I like it.

That is good to hear that it works well. I have plenty of open road out here in the country. Lots of good test roads.

I had the RR for a while and it was fun to use. And like the others say it was always within a 10th at the strip...

I have it. The one that you can download the power graphs and all your runs. I just use if for live power numbers though, never tried downloading. I can attest to there accuracy as long as you Hook up from the start. For HP numbers its better to do the pull from roll if you dont traction issues. I can say they are a tenth off. buds car ran 12.2 and the OLD Gtech put him at 12.3. I dont use all the features just power numbers and drag time. Sometimes the G's also. What I like is you can print the sheet out if someone says your BS'n. I would reccomend it!:thumbsup
