So 3-4 yrs ago my Uncle amd I bought a new sled trailer together that was about $1500. Well sleds with me are like cars with Minnich. Get sick of them half way through the season and sell them. So I only really went up north 2-3 times max with him using it. So now this yr is my first with no sled in many many years. I told him I want some money out of it and he basically told me to screw off. So is it wrong of me to go this winter when it is outside and take it? It is always in his possesion stroed inside until riding season. Can I get into legal trouble?

If your name is on the bill of sale, you can go take it. If his is, you're probably risking being charged with theft.

Still doesn't excuse the fact that if you went halves on it and you want out, he should either buy you out or else you guys sell it, split the proceeds, and he goes to get his very own trailer.

Minus 3-4 years depreciation or half of what a trailer that age is going for these days.:thumbsup

Take a lesson and dont do a halfsies deal again, especially with family.
Another rule that goes along with the anti halfsies deal is, dont sell anything to anyone you know.

Do you have the bill of sale or does he? It can give you some leverage.

wow that sucks. yeah, the split in half stuff sucks unless you have everything in writing.

i'd just be a little firm with the guy and say that if it's because he doesn't have the money, you'd except something in trade or monthly payments.

getting into lawyer stuff sucks because at $200/hr you'll sap up anything were expecting out of him. And especially being family, that just sucks more.

and nice rip ;) hahahaha

well I don't have a bill of sale and I am sure he doesn't either. And he isn't paying because he doesn't have the money....he has plenty. Well a little water into his rev xp's gas tank may settle things:rolf
