I was wondering if just blocking the oil cooler ports on the side of the block would result in a oil flow problem ? A line on this old truck has sprung a leak and I just assume to eliminate the oil cooler and keep clean oil in it, truck dont work hard enough for one anyway. And it has 378k and is 15 years old and I know those lines are beaucoup bucks.

As always any help is apreciated.

Would you believe I "just" put a 6.5 in a Loomis Armor truck
today.......and yes you could have plugged them but that
motor needs all the help it can in cooling.

If you need any of those little basterd clips that hold the lines
in I keep spairs in my box, just ask.

How's your radiator? Have a mint used one for a cold beer.

Watch thoes clips, ive herd horror stories of them braking and draining the motor of oil.

Ya no crap!

I put a 5.7 in an Isuzu NPR cabover, truck was gone for
a solid week before they towed it in. I was all freaked
out I did something wrong until we realized the tention
on that socketed snap ring fitting was just short of applying
enough pressure to secure the line. I give them a pretty
solid tug now and if its missing the little plastic protective
sleave I wire tie over the top.

I am hoping the new lines come with clips and fittings, probably wishful thinking.
Let ya know if that oil cooler comes apart when I spin the fitting out monday Russ, thanks fellas.

I've got a spair good used oil cooler as well if you need it.
Has 30k on it, warranty motor required new one be installed.
