Cars would stage, run to the 440ft and out the building through a big open door and finish your shut down in a parking lot...circle the building and back to the other side :stare Can you imagine trying to navigate your manual steering Max Wedge through a door at the top half of the 1/8th? WOWZERS :stare

Notice the swiss cheese pontiac wagon in the 3rd photo also....

here is the press release for it:

Can't believe they could get any traction on those floors. Look how shiney they are. You get dust on your shoes and you walk on a polished concrete surface and it's slick.

I think they used coca-cola. When I was karting I remember running a few indoor races where coke was used to make traction.

That is so cool, held at the International Amphitheatre then home of the Chicago Packers, LMAO.
Also the scene of the tumultuous 1968 Democratic National Convention.

Too bad we didnt have that today. That would be awesome, you could tune your suspension over the winter and come out swinging in the spring.

the Carbon monoxide and loudness of the cars would surely give you a pounding headache.

Looks like a lotta fun though.

I'm near positive that's an early 50's Kaiser Henry J. My dad had one but sold it when I was young.

And people brought their kids to the track riding in the front seat with no seat belts, the windows rolled up and dad going through a half a pack just getting there.
